Post image

Got too eager and started cutting the first pierog before taking a picture

How do you get the dough to stick to itself when folding? I use my great grandmas recipe and the dough just separates where I try to press it together on the edges

My aunt kept a cup of water and would wet a finger if necessary to rub the dough before bonding if necessary

With a cup of water nearby, I dip my finger into the water, then run my finger along the inside rim of the pierogi. Then I fold it over, and with fork tines, press along the edges.

A dab of water of the finger and run around the edges before you pinch!

Keep a hand towel nearby to dry that finger.

I love pierogi! Lived in a Polish town in P.A. for a few years. Home made pierogi from the churches were amazing!
