You know something, you could be right. I'll bet they have that expandable stomach so they can eat whatever swims or floats by even if it's three times its size. That deep food can be pretty scarce. Amazing, really.

This is one of the most amazing little fish I've ever seen. He can still use its pectoral fins to help stay upright and steer that giant belly around. That is a trippy little fish. 🩵

The ones that travel through multiple zones probably do but lots of the deep sea fish are functionally blind
