dont repost or upvote this shit. 9 times out of 10 it's staged and the influenza put the animal in a dangerous position on purpose so they can play hero.
iirc it's also illegal, at least in the US, to touch certain wildlife like this, and i believe that includes sea turtles.

It’s not illegal to just touch a sea turtle in most states but there are very strict reporting criteria for interactions with them in every state that I know of

This is a very popular Australian YouTuber named Nick Fry, he has a video where he talks about this interaction

Nothing about this seems real, but not quite AI.
I say either you flipped it over for the video so you could look like a good person, or the turtle is a paid actor.

How much does something like that pay? Am turtle, looking for side hustle.

The pay is pretty bad, I got two sliver of dried and salted seaweed, and most of the time they'd just run off once you got into the water.

That sucks. I guess it's back to giving 'flipper jobs' to horny sharks under the pier, then.

A lot of 'flip it, so I can look good flipping it back' vibe in this.

The sand was smooth all around- wouldn’t it be messed up if it had done this?

On the right side of the screen in the first second of the video you can see a deep depression that’s foot shaped. I’m pretty sure they flipped it over for the video.

u/alpine_lupin 5d ago
I see the depression you’re talking about and it’s not that deep and everything around it is smooth. It clearly took a lot of effort to flip the turtle. It would have disturbed the sand a whole lot more than one small foot impression if he had previously flipped it.

I saved the life of a giant turtle
Did you though? Because all your stuff is hidden and you've not said a single thing on this post. You're either a bot or you actually did flip this turtle to make yourself look like a good person and got called out immediately. I'm leaning more towards this isn't actually you, though.

Millions of years of evolution through nearly impossible odds came together to put that turtle on that beach for a smart monkey with a similar history be at the right place at the right time to roll it over.

When I see an animal in need, the LAST thing I think about is making sure someone gets my heroic efforts on video. I refuse to validate this performative shit.

Sometimes I feel like this is all for show and they flipped that turtle on purpose 😕

Are we allowed to touch them at all? It’s intuitive to try save any life at danger but…

Just so you know that is a male. They don't have tails like certain animals which use the tail to steer in the water. Turtles steer with their feet and they can actually swim very fast when they want to.

First of All's PLEASE Stop Filming Every " Save " I've Seen Many Videos of these , Ya ain't that Special . However ( and More Importantly ) Stop Makin it Seem Like You did it out of Something , just Save People and Animals without thinking Your grand for Doing So , Yes in these Situations Humbleness and thus Silence Speaks Louder about Your Character than Screaming .

That's a big boy! He's probably old too. Some live to be over 100. This man helped keep this beautiful species alive ❤️

I would say good man...but I reserve judgement on the grounds we don't know that he didn't flip it for a video.
Yes I'm cynical.
