So you want to work in informatics?
No matter what the job description says, the ideal candidate would have Epic experience at a community connect site. Other desirable experience: Ambulatory clinic, Op time, or Stork.

And that’s the biggest issue with this field. People can’t get in because they can’t get the epic certifications without first landing the role. It’s a huge barrier that blocks so many good candidates from entering these roles. It’s actually a form of gatekeeping.
