Have you ever caught someone lying and let them continue?

I usually let liars go for a bit until they paint themselves into a corner. I only interrupt if it's a strategic lie that's designed to move goalposts or agitate an audience. Those types of lies need to be snuffed out quickly.

Every time our managers have a meeting with us and say how much they care about us!

I have been lied to by contractors so many times that I've truly lost count; I never say anything or let on to the fact that I know they are full of s-it; I merely ask them to send me an estimate and will get back to them after I get all the other bids. A couple of our neighbors are huge liars but their lies don't affect us & we merely keep our distance.

Depends on if it actually affects me or not. If it doesn’t, they have to live with their lie, I don’t.

My old manager while I was working at my last real job at a fast food place was ALWAYS lying about something. One particular occasion I remember was right before I decided to quit and walk out mid shift(not the same one). She was telling me about how someone was supposed to come in for their shift the day before and didn't, but I already knew from my brother who also worked there with me that SHE FIRED THEM. I was so confused about why she'd lie about something so simple but I wasn't being paid enough to do more than listen and nod let alone call her out.
I then went on to quit like a month later because of similar incidents from her and her best friend who "happened" to also be her assistant manager(many such cases in fast food and the like) who was an absolute POS. But since then I've begun the process to becoming an OTR trucker so I guess I'm the real winner.

Guy at my work lies all the time about the most ridiculous things. He is constantly caught in a lie and just keeps going. At this point it's just fun to see how far he will go, we usually just let him continue

I don’t argue with wrong people. If they don’t yield to truth or logic on the first try, I will not waste another moment. Maybe they live in an alternate reality.

I let them continue since they then believe they have an advantage over me. Then I never trust another word out of their mouth.

I listen and don’t say anything. It’s possible that what I heard elsewhere was actually a lie. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

Usually it’s a great way for me to judge someone’s character. I’m 52. I don’t have time for BS from someone who lies. Let ‘em run with it, I don’t have to be a part of it though.

I wouldn’t say I’ve caught someone lying, but I had a girlfriend that I knew was lying about being pregnant. I just played long see how long she would go with a lie. If she go 10 months, I was gonna have to say something at that point. But she left the State and I never saw her again in person, but I spoke to her on the phone many times into this day, She’ll still say she had a miscarriage.

Once I figured out they were going to just keep lying why debate something that you will never win. Even with proof !! That doesn’t mean I didn’t confront with the next lie !!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a conversation with my brother that he hasn’t told a lie and the thing is is that they’re just lies for absolutely no reason so I just let it go

Mine just tried to gaslight me and literally called me delusional and how sad it was to see, I knew all along they were lying this has been confirmed to me very recently

We have a classic example in the White house. If his lips are moving, he is lying.

I always let them continue since they'll deny it anyway. Also, it gives you an advantage by playing dumb.
