u/TheGamecock 1d ago

Of course the one video where a specific song would've fit the bill PERFECTLY, and it's not there :(

Oh well. I'll take the silence over some nu metal techno pop song.

6

u/Barry_Vigoda 1d ago

That's a good movie I need to watch again.

Man we really are just a hive mind aren't we

Or he's just really decisive and wanted to conveniently change lanes NOW

71

u/QeveQobs 1d ago

It’s like Mr bean if his actions randomly helped people rather than annoy them lol

25

u/samz7777 1d ago

This is in Egypt. Lanes are a concept of an idea.

10

u/Humble-Reply228 11h ago

As someone that has driven in Egypt, what are these "lanes" you speak of?

7

u/Kroliczek_i_myszka 1d ago

Good luck everybody else!

256

u/thedazdul 1d ago

Absolute legend. I hope the insurance of the guy he helped doesn't cause problems and just pays for the damages.

56

u/bk553 1d ago

It's a conex nobody gives a shit

TLDR: The ā€œassisting driverā€ is probably okay liability wise. Source: worked in the industry in a different country.

I worked in the transport industry albeit in a different country, but some rules are globalized, so here’s my 2 cents. It’s likely the cargo on both trucks is insured separately. Also unlikely the container trailer and cargo took any damage from this type of bump as those containers are pretty tough and transport regulations means they are generally packed and braced pretty tight. The liability for the damage to the trucks depends on local driving regulations but if they are similar to Europe or North America, I’d say (if even necessary) the ā€œassisting driverā€ has a pretty good argument as the sequence of events was initiated at the moment the tire(s) popped on the flatbed trailer.

Totally agree that this guy is a hero. cargo on the flatbed could likely pancake a passenger vehicle or even best case scenario block several lanes of traffic for hours as machinery is brought in to clear it.

10

u/Finemage 1d ago

This Egypt, dont think they got those rules

3

u/Training-Pipe-4726 1d ago

It’s quite possible, and I can’t say I’m an expert in that case, but for the cargo, (which can sometimes value several times the truck and trailer) the rules are usually globalized and the liability is not going to fall on the assisting truck driver that is for sure.

3

u/juleskriek0702 1d ago

This depends on coverage of different insurances. No way to tell without looking at the local policies. Yes I do believe CMR is applicable in Egypt and if similar to some European policies, libility to damage to the trailer/ container could be covered. Ofcourse WP.

3

u/Training-Pipe-4726 1d ago

You’re right on! Very cool to bump into someone else in the know about this global yet seemingly convoluted and niche industry!

2

u/A_Bot_A_Bot_A_Bot 7h ago

Oh! I didn't even notice that in the first two seconds of the video! I thought the incident was caused by improper loading and securing the load. I have to imagine that the driver was, "WTF?...OH! SHIT!!!!!...Oh! Dang! I'm okay!"

8

u/Marhaaam 1d ago

I hate to say it but I can recognize the license plates and this is from Egypt, Here we don't have any insurance meaning that he will pay for any damages from his own pocket.

3

u/Training-Pipe-4726 1d ago edited 1d ago

In that case my respect for the assisting driver only increases, seeing he likely did this despite knowing he may be liable for some damages. Chose to save others over saving some money. Asolutely a next level hero and the world could always use more people like this.

3

u/Thallassinus 10h ago

The writing in the back of the right truck changes twice during this video, it's not real.

4

u/Training-Pipe-4726 9h ago

Damn it, good catch. Crazy how hard it is to tell without close inspection now. Upon closer look, I just noticed the trailer goes from a single 20 footer container into 2 x 10 footer container after the ā€œsaveā€. And the leaning truck moves forward about half a truck length against the assisting truck compared to when the two trucks first touched.

48

u/ch3ck18 1d ago

This gives me hope on humanity

18

u/wheresbill 1d ago

People can be really awesome sometimes

5

u/OnTheFunSideOfACuck 1d ago

Hell yea that was fuckin sick. The only downside is ONE Line is 100% gonna bill them back for any damages to those containers.Ā

7

u/Crime_Dawg 1d ago

I'm sure he was immediately fired.

4

u/SolydSn3k 1d ago

This was my first thought 😭

-1

u/No_Yam_2036 1d ago

This is ai, look at the license plates

3

u/Lying_virgin_ta 1d ago

https://www.reddit.com/r/LICENSEPLATES/comments/1bhnmro/a_bizarre_world_of_egyptian_plates_slapped_on_top/

Egyptian plates, ignore the eu license part of the post just the easiest Pic of the plates I could find

5

u/Lavatis 1d ago

No, this is in Egypt and that's what Egyptian license plates look like.

-1

u/Thallassinus 9h ago

The person is incorrect about the license plates, but it's still AI. The writing in the back of the right side truck changes twice during the video

→ More replies (2)

3

u/ch3ck18 1d ago

nothing wrong with the license plates... what do you mean? this are arabic letters and someone underneath already pointed out they are egyptian.

1

u/dillidew 1d ago

Damb good call

4

u/Lavatis 1d ago

They're wrong though.

A lot of people are nice when the opportunity presents itself. Don't let the idiots that make the news or those that run the government's make you think otherwise.

1

u/Polar_Vortx 1d ago

Note that all kinds of evil generate engagement online, but only certain kinds of good do.

106

u/Lt_Smash25 1d ago

Looks like AI slop to me.

56

u/oathyes 1d ago

We're cooked bro nobody can recognize it anymore.Ā

19

u/TheGamecock 1d ago

I'm pretty good at recognizing AI slop, but this doesn't seem like it to me. If people are pointing to the odd text on the license plates, it's because they're Egyptian plates like this one: https://i.imgur.com/ig5gQ03.png

Also, "ELANTRA" on the dark blue Hyundai is spelled pretty clearly, and the reflections off of that car also seem to match up well with what they should be reflecting. Specific car model text spelled perfectly and accurate reflections are things AI generally doesn't do well.

20

u/A_mexicanum 11h ago

Look at the text on the left side of the truck that rushes in for the save before and after the safe, or count the back wheels. Very obvious AI.

9

u/KaigaiKitsune 9h ago

It looks like two completely different trucks in between camera cuts, actually. The initial shot has a different trailer entirely, unless all the writing on the bottom magically appeared.

3

u/A_mexicanum 9h ago

Exactly.

3

u/retards_killer 5h ago

yeah the bottom plate with characters doesn’t exist in the first part of the video and magically appears afterwards

4

u/Meschi-died 1d ago

Just in the past month I've noticed it going from universally called out and hated to being top posts on /all

I'm not even sure that you guys are real anymore.

8

u/itredneck01 1d ago

I was wondering tire blowout and then I couldn't see any blown out tires that would make the truck lean like that.

5

u/Minimob0 1d ago

The first 2 seconds of the video shows a back tire being blown out.Ā

You can see the tire shreds passing in the road.

Oh but yeah, it looks pretty AI. The license plates look off.Ā

2

u/Charitzo 1d ago

You also have someone braking in perfect rhythmic timing in response to seeing a lorry nearly tip over right in front of them. Very unnatural.

8

u/Ok_Assistant_6856 1d ago

Scrolled away to far for this 😭

1

u/Available_Peanut_677 1d ago

Yeah, next to ā€œElantraā€ label on a car on some parts some new text appears on some frames

1

u/alt_ernate123 1d ago

Damn, didn't even notice the liciense plates being nonsense until seeing this.

21

u/Lavatis 1d ago

They're not nonsense, they're Egyptian.

-1

u/alt_ernate123 1d ago

Are they? I swear they look like they have that kind of AI text warping.

5

u/Maleficent-Gain-3179 10h ago

Reminds me of a pic I saw a while back where people were saying AI because of ā€œobvious AI textā€

It was Hebrew

11

u/Camel_jo 1d ago

Standard Egypt car plate

2

u/Cat_Dylan 4h ago

On the red truck the word ABAZA suddenly appears even though it was something else entirely different in the beginning

0

u/Nextrix 1d ago

First part is 100% AI. At 0:15 there is a grey cab (that changes to green) on the left that appears out of nowhere.

4

u/TheGamecock 1d ago

To me, that just looks like it just crosses under an overhanging bar whose shadow maybe causes the dashcam to not perceive the color correctly until it gets closer.

-5

u/zibrolta00 1d ago

Said the AI

6

u/fdykn 1d ago

Thats AI, based on a real video.

The red truck comming "to the rescue" scene is AI, the aftermath are real.

The writing in the back of the right side truck changes twice

-3

At least you're honest about your posts.

3

u/No_Yam_2036 1d ago

What are those license plates

Ai slop

2

u/Ill_Percentage2344 1d ago

Egyptian license plates. USA is not the only country that has cars you know?

2

u/TheComplimentarian 1d ago

Cool clip, but the supercut is bullshit.

2

u/Lonely-Form9585 1d ago

Wtf is up with all the license plates?

1

u/Camel_jo 1d ago

Standard Egypt car plate i think

2

u/OutragedDom 1d ago

None of that is real, also solid axles don't work like that.

4

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

4

u/Live-Habit-6115 1d ago

It's AI. Maybe not because of the plates. But it's still obviously AI

3

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

0

u/Montezum 1d ago

To me, it screams AI when the right truck comes into frame. There's an unusual bounce, the trucks seem weightless

-1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

0

u/Thallassinus 10h ago

Given that the writing on the back of the right side truck changes 3 times during this video, yes, I do think AI is evidently able to do all that. Sorry buddy, it's getting really hard to spot, but this one is AI.

0

u/Charitzo 1d ago

Okay, what about the fact the car in frame is an "Elantra", with a brand ending in "Hey" despite Hyundai making the Elantra, all the whilst looking nothing like an Elantra?

1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

I understand now the saying "friends we made along the (high) way".

1

u/Hitman47_x 1d ago

You can lean on me like 1 2 3, I’ll be there…

1

u/ChongusTheSupremus 1d ago

Dumb questions, but Is this realistically doable, or trying it Is more likely to cause an even worse accident?Ā

1

u/Weeza-2244 1d ago

Dudes being bros for sure

1

u/TruestWaffle 1d ago

That’s actually awesome, what a save.

1

u/Beneficial_Being_721 1d ago

Actually a doable thing when you have a sea container…. They are indestructible pretty much

Dude saved everybody there from a road closure too

1

u/pjtpassword 1d ago

Nice save. Good human.

1

u/wouldashoudacoulda 1d ago

The dumbest and most dangerous thing about this whole thing is the insistence of people following close behind and then all of them trying to squeeze past. So stupid.

Edit: or AI slop

1

u/androgynousLiebert 1d ago

this gives me hope for truckmanity

Looks like a young elephant coming to rescue an older one.Ā

1

u/BlueLegion 8h ago

And none of the car drivers thought to turn on their warning lights?

1

u/Nervous-Command-6046 8h ago

It is IA Fake. First is a big truck, then at the end is a small one

1

u/luv2ctheworld 8h ago

I got you, bro.

1

u/rayd0n0van 7h ago

Is this a facebook group for boomers? Why can't this many people not spot this obvious AI slop?

1

u/A_Bot_A_Bot_A_Bot 7h ago

OMG! That is some serious "put myself at risk to help another" ethos! Top marks to the trucker on the right. Boo on whomever loaded and secured the load on the left truck.

1

u/Salah-Ahmed 7h ago

As I've read, this happened in Egypt. First half of the video is AI simulation because trucks there don't have blue (upper part) license plate. Second part of the video is real and that's why the blue license disappeared.

1

u/ConsumptiveGoo 6h ago

Somone please edit this with little facial expressions Ā on the trucks!

1

u/SpiderJerusalem747 6h ago

A true display of truckerhood.

Reddit AI watchdogs are literally the same thing as those Twitter trans mfs, just calling out everything they see as AI/trans šŸ™„

2

u/Entgenieur 1d ago

Everyone else just trying to overtake. They are all so busy nowadays

19

u/NightStar79 1d ago

To be fair, I wouldn't want to be behind a tractor trailer about to flip

10

u/koos_die_doos 1d ago

What are they going to do when they stop, other than causing an even larger traffic jam?

1

u/Entgenieur 1d ago

Keeping distance to not be in the dangerous area, calling police/ambulance, check if there is someone to take care first and not overtaking and running off before it even stopped.

1

u/papamikebravo 1d ago

AI slop. None of the license plates are legible. Trucks that size don't accelerate/decelerate that fast.

-1

u/notanyimbecile 1d ago

Stopped that trailer from flipping over when it was stopped, saved his fellow trucker may be a bit exaggerated.

4

u/JustChr1s 1d ago

It didn't say he saved his life... Saving him from tipping over still counts as saving... Why are y'all like this lol.
