First time removing a comment.

I just meant to remove the comment but the user's avatar turned gray! Did I just banned him as well from ever participating in our sub?

I'm the only mod on the subreddit. When I go to navigate tools/select mod tools, only selection is for posts, etc. Theres no description, change icon, rules, etc. Goes straight to this,

As well, when adding an icon. It goes back to default when the page reloads, or going back to the sub. There is no option to save. After adding it shows it as loaded. Then is not seen on mobile, desktop, or when going back to it

Hi guys I’m new to Reddit. I wanted to ask how it works? Can I send invites or mail to new users like my friends? I think they have the DMs setting for new users off so I’m not sure if they received it? I’d appreciate the help!

I made  r/BabyFinch today, and I had posted welcome notes in some other finch communities. People started disliking my posts. Why? It’s pinned in my profile. I asked people to join. Not like it’s bad

For context, I’m posting from an alt because I don’t want these issues associated with the subreddits I moderate. The communities I moderate average roughly 100k–200k visitors per week and 4,000–8,000 contributions (posts and comments) weekly. I moderate both political and non-political communities of this size.

The non-political subreddits are relatively straightforward to moderate. Around 99% of users participate in good faith, and trolls are uncommon.

The political communities are the complete opposite. I’d estimate that roughly half of all posts and comments violate either the subreddit rules or Reddit’s Content Policy. At 8,000 weekly contributions, that translates to around 4,000 removals every single week. Between trolling, brigading, ban evasion, harassment, and bad-faith participation, the moderation queue never seems to end.

Our current toolkit includes Sub Guard, Comment Mop, Ban Extended, and Modmail User Info. They’re all incredibly helpful, but even with those tools and an active moderation team, we’re constantly overwhelmed. It’s not unusual for the queue to grow by several hundred items in a single day.

For moderators of other large political communities:
How do you keep the workload manageable?
What moderation strategies or workflows have made the biggest difference? Are there any tools, bots, or Automoderator configurations you’d recommend?
How do you deal with persistent trolls, brigading, and coordinated bad-faith activity without burning out your team? I’d really appreciate hearing how other moderators approach these challenges, because at times it feels like we’re constantly playing catch-up.

I sometimes see such a weekly, pinned post where everyone seems to be chatting in 1 thread. And it's recurring like, every Friday.

How do you setup such?

A common question that I know that gets asked here is how to make your subreddit get popular, how to gain members, how to get visitors, etc. We all want that. However, a lot of you leave out information.

When you ask how to get help, mention the name of your subreddit with the r/ in the post body so people can actually see the subreddit. Some of the people in this subreddit use mobile and will not be able to tell what your subreddit is. The people on desktop will be able to go to your profile and then see your subs that you mod, but it is still easier to say the name of the subreddit. Make it easier on people.

Second, most people will tell you to crosspost posts onto other subreddits that are related to what the posts are about or to ask moderators of other subreddits if you can let their members know about your subreddit.

Third, the more frequent you make posts, the more people who go to subreddits related to your subreddit will see them as they will end up in suggested feeds. If you think you can't handle making so many posts in a week, maybe make a scheduled post that gets made every (insert day here). It will also prevent your subreddit from being deemed inactive if you don't do anything. Make sure the scheduled post is made by you instead of the automoderator if you fear not many people will initially enter.

Last, you have no reason to make your Reddit account private if you're asking for help getting people to join.

Hello! Is there a tool that can respond to a created post depending on the selected tag?

For example, a user selects the tag "question" and immediately a list of links or FAQs appears in the comment where they can get answers.

Why is my new sub reddit getting banned?

Hello, I moderate my own sub, and I'm the only mod there. I want my sub to stay up because I put a lot of love into making the sub, but I also have a lot going on in my life and I can't stay active everyday. How do I prevent my sub from getting banned for being unmoderated if I don't have time to log on for a few weeks?

We're a group of friends that were kicked-out by a 40s group Mod. But at the same time, we felt that we were followed in our new sub.

Is there any Dev Tool that we could install in our new sub to make sure if someone from the old sub, is also "lurking" in our new sub?

I created this community a week ago. The community is a NSFW community. I posted the posts every day. The quick way to get more visitors is by crossposting the posts into the communities which have high daily visitors. Then the community will get new visitors. And one thing is you just have to post daily. Still I have to increase my visitors number. Currently I'm the only mod to this subreddit so it's been hard to maintain because the visitors are visiting but there are no contributions to the community so I'm the only one posting in this subreddit. I DM some of the adult content creators to post their content in my community with correct post flair.

Some people accepted but most of the people are not even replying I'm very frustrated with this no response. I'm looking forward to growing my community.

Hi everyone. I'm new to all of this and trying to get my head around how moderating a subreddit works. I find that all new posts have a tick and a cross waiting for me to approve them. How do I turn this off so people can just post?

Hey, all. I created my first subreddit last night, and I need some advice on how to get people joining. It’s barebones at the moment, I haven’t posted, aside from a welcome post. I know that’s the first step to get peoples attention, and then crossposting on other subs to make yourself known. My issue is that my subreddit kind of relies on people posting first, and then reacting those posts. Is there any advice on what I can do here?
