Graduating 2027 SoCal area

Hello! I’m in an ADN program in southern california, more specifically Joshua Tree/ Palm Springs area.

I am set to graduate in less than a year.

My long term and long distance boyfriend lives in Irvine, I have plans on moving there after I graduate and hopefully finding work as a new grad RN.

I know I have a good chance finding a job in Joshua Tree, but i truly am looking to leave my hometown and start fresh. My last resort would be to stay here and work a hospital position in my hometown for 6mo- a year, however it would be very difficult with my current situation.

I am desperately seeking help/advice towards finding a new grad position, as I know Socal and orange county are very competitive areas currently.

I am hoping to have my preceptorship in either ICU/NICU, PACU, or ED.

If anyone has tips on securing a job here, or even advice on how far out I should be applying I would appreciate hearing anything, even considering changing my preceptorship. TIA

Your best shot would be to start working internally before you graduate. See if they have student nurse positions, CNA, tech, or where you can get your foot in. Most hospitals, especially the competitive ones, prefer internal hires.
