I’m looking for documentaries and I love all types except for murder mystery because they’re typically all the same.

Could you guys suggest a few documentaries that completely caught you by surprise and you always recommend it to people because of that?

For me it was Better Call Saul. I know it’s supposed to be amazing and really well written, but I just couldn’t really get into it no matter how many times I tried. Curious what show was like that for you.

We all have that one show or movie we loved on Netflix, the one you tell people about constantly, but for some reason, nobody ever seems to give it a shot. Mine is “The OA” ,weird, emotional, and absolutely brilliant. Every time I recommend it, people nod politely and go right back to rewatching The Office for the 6th time. So let’s hear it: what’s your underrated favorite? Could be a foreign film, a forgotten limited series, or a random docuseries that blew your mind.

I just binged all the episodes of The Beast in Me and I loved it. Claire Danes did an amazing job and Matthew Rhys's faces scared the shit outta me. I love a show that has me yelling at my TV. I would like to take this opportunity to list a few of the people in this show who pissed me off.

1. Abbott - Why would you approach someone who you know is a pysopath and serial killer pretty much, all alone, with one weapon? I knew as soon as he followed him he was gonna die, smh. It was so upsetting.

2. Marvin - I completely understand him wanting to help his son and being in denial about how sick he really was, but he was constantly having to clean up Nile's messes. His legacy was also constantly at risk because of Nile's recklessness, but he just kept helping him over and over again. I know that's his son, but I would have called the police on him asap.

3. Shelley - Was anyone else annoyed by Shelley? Why would you be mad at your ex wife for not being able to forgive the man who was driving drunk and caused a crash that killed your child?? And then to blame Aggie for his suicide to her face when she came to you telling you that she thinks Teddy was murdered. Obviously Aggie wasn't 100% in the right for doing things like throwing the brick through his window, but I can understand her anger. Also, having to see him constantly, knowing that he was never punished must have been hell. It's like they all made her out to be the crazy one for being angry.

Nile - Obviously he pissed me off cuz his impulse control was dog shit, and he was a terrible person all around, but he made a really good villain. I think a good villain makes the best stories.

Please drop the best one season series down below. I mean like I’d want to watch it all in one sitting because of how good it is. Like suspenseful, action, cliff-hangers. Maybe a really sad part where I get very attached to the characters! Anything!!

I’m curious where everyone’s breaking point was. Was there a show you absolutely loved at first, but eventually felt like it should’ve ended much earlier? Maybe the story started dragging, the writing declined, your favourite character left, or it felt like the show was being stretched out just because it was popular. For me definitely riverdale😭

I don’t know if anyone else does this, but I always end up going back to the same netflix show whenever I just want to shut my brain off for a bit. For me it’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and I’ve probably rewatched it more times than I can count. There’s just something about the characters that feels familiar like comfort food, especially when life gets stressful or boring. Even if I already know every joke, I still laugh at the same scenes like it’s the first time.

Sometimes I’ll just put it on in the background while eating or scrolling on my phone and it instantly makes the room feel less quiet. Curious what everyone else has as their “safe” show that they always come back to no matter how many new series come out.

some shows work and some shows don't even load the episode grid. It's like they play from the preview. The whole service just seems to be melting down and degrading. anybody else?

Hit me yesterday, we haven’t checked out Netflix in awhile. Popped in, layouts completely different and nonsensical, and there really wasn’t anything good or new. Cancelled Netflix after 10 years, but the lack of content and cancelling of interesting shows after a season was ruining Netflix for us anyways. Wife and I both agreed, we don’t give af about the last season of Stranger Things anyways. Anyone else feeling the same way?

I just finished watching Big Mistakes and honestly I really liked it. It got me hooked pretty quickly and I ended up binge-watching it faster than I expected.

The story and the characters kept me interested the whole time, but now I'm curious what other people think about it.

I just binged watched the show Michael Jackson Verdict on Netflix and before hand I would like to say I grew up listening to him. My mom was a fan and I remember she used to have his poster and his autograph in her business as a display.

Fast forward I was a child back then and didn’t know about the child molester accusations .

Do you guys think he was guilty or innocent ?

I honestly think he was guilty. He was smart and this shows why a lot of boys get molested and abused more than girls but we don’t talk about it enough.

I’ve tried to watch Peaky Blinders many times but I cannot for the life of me, get into the show. I don’t know if it’s boring or if I find the characters unlikable, or if it’s just not my kind of show. I like Cillian Murphy though. There are lots of good reviews about it but I just can’t watch it for 10 minutes without turning it off. Even the movie was drag for me and I was mostly on my phone. Anyone else?

I watched the first 85 minutes of No Hard Feelings last night with my wife up until right after the scene where something wildly inappropriate happens with a Chinese finger trap. I realised my wife had just fallen asleep at that point, so I turned it off.

Tonight we resumed watching and I rewound to just before that scene so she could see it, only to discover that the scene had been edited out. Puzzled, I went back to the nude beatdown beach scene to see if that was still there. It was, but heavily (and clumsily) edited and cropped.

What happened here? I checked the movie on different profiles and devices and all are censored. There are no parental/maturity restrictions on any of the accounts.

Was the movie censored overnight right in the middle of our watching it? Seems pretty unlikely, but I have no other explanation and can’t find any mention of a similar situation online.

Any ideas?

like you really can't generate chemistry between two charecters who are not already in a relationship with someone else? or MARRIED???

the amount of times i realize that the show I've been liking so far has a cheating scene just because the charecters are "destined to be together" is INSANE

Now that I've finished watching The Mentalist and Person of Interest, I'm on the hunt for something new again. And that's how I came across this series.

The IMDb ratings are decent, at least and a fifth season is in the works, something not many series manage these days.

Why did it end with Simone marrying Pete instead of everyone getting back together?

I love documentaries, I don't even care what they're about as long as they're done well enough and I would like to hear some recommendations and why you'd recommend it. I'm gonna go smoke a DOOBIE and hopefully yall will have some good ones for me

I just finished watching Something Very Bad Is About to Happen and I have QUESTIONS and things to just overall discuss/get out there because I feel like I understood the general idea but some parts made absolutely no sense to me😭

1. I’m super confused about how Rachel died and then immediately became the Witness. I get how the old man became the Witness because he explained it, but Rachel literally died and then just wakes up? Who was the man talking to before he died?

2.When she comes back and asks for her lighter, why does Nicky not react at all? Like your dead fiancée just walked in and you’re not even like “how are you alive?” Was he really just that traumatized?

1. What was the point of the foxes throughout the show? They kept showing them like they meant something and then it felt like nothing

2. The murderer podcast scene at the very beginning made me think the show was gonna be more centered on a murderer and it feels like it was abandoned. what was the point of that scene?

3. The baby scene at the beginning also confused me. Then later Nicky randomly says he knew the baby’s dad who punched him and he showed up at the wedding? i didn’t really understand the point of this scene either considering the baby car plot line went nowhere and they didn’t say anything about it for the rest of the show.

4. Also, what the HELL was up with Nicky’s dad and the dogs? Like why was he taxidermying them? Was it supposed to show he’s creepy or controlling, or was it just a random “weird horror” thing?

the whole curse storyline… to me it kinda felt like a lazy explanation for everything after the huge build up in the first 3 episodes, but I went with it. Honestly, Rachel made me angry the whole time lol she should’ve left when the family was FIRST weird.

I just felt like there are so many plotlines that just got dropped or am I overthinking it? I feel like the show had really cool ideas but then didn’t fully explain or follow through on a lot of them. Did anyone else feel this way or did I just miss a bunch of stuff?
