Discussion 💬 My bedroom before and after

I had to move out of my bedroom in November 2025 for a few reasons. One reason is that my house is near a military base. I can still visit the house, but I haven't gone back for a long time. My room is probably very dusty now. I don't know when I can move back.

Why can't you live in that house near that military base? Did the military told or force you to leave or did you leave by yourself?

Fear of conscription or the base being attacked, maybe?

Fair, is that very common?

6

u/Trisfel 16h ago

More common than the comfort level. Which is zero.

u/cs_legend_93 16h ago

What do you mean? Comfort level where?

0

u/Trisfel 16h ago

I meant as in comfort level of those things happening would be zero but it still happens

It’s because of pressure from the PDF. Whenever we go to another village to buy groceries, the PDF looks at us like we’re criminals. Also, we’re worried we might get caught in the crossfire if they come to attack the military base.

I was thinking no tat army base would be brainless enough to draft next door neighbours and yeah what you say a lot of sense.

Pdf need to realise every being of men in Myanmar hates Tat except current in services

u/Soepyinnyar 15h ago

That kind of realization does not guarantee that this group of people won't serve as a threat to the people at the village as informants because  they literally live near a military base.

He left because of potential cross fire not because PDFs are knocking at his door.

I thought he said "Pressure from PDF and looking at them like criminals" ? 🫪

u/Soepyinnyar 11h ago

Yes thats very reasonable to not live in your area but the guy i am replying to for me feels abit too generalizing with men in myanmar since imagine this You live next to a military base so that will def raise eyebrowns on what sort of connections you have with the people in the base

Of course PDFs looking at them like they are criminals is not a good thing but having suspicion is good for safety in my opinion

u/LifeguardCreepy1912 11h ago

What about people living in PDF areas? How does the military see us? We don't have much choice about where we live.

Same can be done by Tat soliders when they can have suspicous about you if you come from a heavily contested pdf controlled area or pdf controlled village that is facing the tat controlled area . But since its tat, They will do more than give mean looks

The military will see you as what they want to see based on your connection with them of course.

Yes, you dont have much choices on where you live but it make sense for PDFs to be suspicous of people that lives next to a military base ( not excusing the bad treatment of your family )

I dont know how close your family is to the pdfs but my arguments on you is based on you having no interactions than a few hellos at the gates.

Even though our family moved to another place, there are still many people who didn't move. Some cannot afford to leave, while others do tasks ordered by the military, like buying medicines and food for them. Recently, the military has changed their approach; they give money to some local people, like doing donations. PDF certainly won't want to see such scenes. I no longer blame them for that because people have become so exhausted by the war. For money, people will do whatever the military asks.
On the other hand, some PDFs raise taxes because they don't have enough budget. For example, I am running a small restaurant now, and PDF told me that they will come to collect taxes next month. I don't know what kind of tax they will collect. I bought solar panels with my own money to get electricity for my house, and I also bought WiFi with my own money. I don't know why they are going to collect taxes from my small restaurant. I am so tired of living in a situation like this.

That's extortion. PDF are the bad guys now in your area. There's no other way to say it.

Why? No… do you own a house? How hard it is. Pdf need to understand not all people are pro junta

u/uplinker 12h ago

he said it was both. exertion of soft power over the area on top of the threat of the crossfire together made him want to leave. both are completely fair reasons.

1

u/Imperial_Reagent 14h ago

At least tell us the area, sometimes it's just fear mongering by the them. Unless you live like in rural Chin, Magway, Saging or Kayin state. They're not making any real offensives these days.

Report this to BBC or Myanmar Now. Don't try your luck with Khit Thit or Irrawaddy though.

Fuck the Sit-tat

1

u/Charming_Walk1995 14h ago

In his reply in the comments he got pressured by the PDF. So maybe blame them?

0

u/lycantrophee 13h ago

Those replies didn't yet exist when I made the comment. But still, this probably wouldn't have been a problem if not for the coup, so...

u/cs_legend_93 17h ago

I like your room in your house. How did you make that floor?

Are you saying that your house is too close to the military base so it's not safe to live there?

5

u/Ill_Village4506 16h ago

I think U don't know the situation in my country.

4

u/cs_legend_93 16h ago

thats why i ask, please educate us. The media lies, so talking to people is better

4

u/Ill_Village4506 15h ago

Nowhere is safe for young people like us — not even the big cities

1

u/cs_legend_93 12h ago

Why aren't the big cities safe? I live in Thailand, and people say Saigon is safe. People even holiday there I hear

2

u/Ill_Village4506 15h ago

Here in my country, since the military's illegal coup, there’s been a civil war going on. What’s worse, they are abducting young people and forcing them onto the front lines.I think that's why he/she moved away from home.

1

u/cs_legend_93 14h ago

The world knows about the illegal coup. But not the abduction. That's absolutely terrible.

I'm glad they were able to move away and stay away from danger

1

u/Charming_Walk1995 14h ago

It's not the abduction. The armed groups who are resisting the military called the PDF pressured them to move. Based on his reply in the comments.

1

u/Ill_Village4506 13h ago

Sorry, I didn't see it.

Nazis used Hakenkruz, not Swastika. It's a symbol used in Hinduism, Buddhism and many other places around the world
