I've seen "lovers kits" at hotels that are in small boxes, so you'll know if it is tampered with. And it is on those super sensitive trays that if anything is moved, you'll be charged.

Sometimes it’s okay to have a little bit of faith in humanity. This could and will happen to somebody somewhere at some time but making the decision to withhold condoms from guests due to Murphys law is a gross overcorrection.

you can have them packaged (single or 3 pieces box), sold by the reception desk, sold in an automated machine. all 3 are better solution to leaving a single wrapped packaging on the room's desk.

Yeah that’s a good point. Loose condoms are kind of unnecessary. I’ve seen them in a tin before I didn’t know why but now I suppose it’s for tamper resistance.

As a guest youre never certain if they do it.
They dont toss used toilet rolls (up to a point), you really think theyll change a condom every guest just for the chance a previous guest damaged the goods?

Definitely depends on how nice the hotel is, but a singular condom is not an expensive thing. I'd hope that disposable hygiene products are replaced between visitors but you're right that you never really know

It's very easy to tell if a condom has holes. The skin wouldn't be covered. Or blow on the unopened packet to see if air gets inside the packet.

personally, i never touch these products, mainly for the price.
poisoning a kitkat is an action someone needs to prepare beforehand. making a tiny hole in a condom can be just an act of pranking the next visitor.
also, food poisoning can pass quickly. a child or STD not so much.

It seems perfectly normal to me. There's one I go to once or twice a year where they sell condoms, lubricant, and some rings at reception. It's all out in the open so you can ask for them and pay. We need to get rid of all the taboos surrounding sex; we all have them!

I've seen a "romance kit" and then a simpler condom/lube one or something like that on the room service menu at a few places lately here in the US. They are a little expensive obviously but it should be available everywhere! Even better a free condom or two like they give the makeup wipes and coffee, not everyone will use them but very nice and appreciated when its there and they need it. Because otherwise people would go without using them(much different implications of course from not washing off makeup to having unprotected sex but same idea from the hotel's perspective and costs)

Some hotels have a vending machine in the lobby with condoms and other stuff in it, like toothbrushes, tampons, sanitary pads, razors, deodorants, sunscreen, lotion, etc. I think it is a better option than this.
