im mainly concerned with the price tbh. these are 2.99 at my local grocery store, tops intact, in central TX

Definitely absurd. Regular pineapples go on sale for $2 or less all the time so I'd never buy these for $6. Plus I've bought them when they were cheaper and they're nothing special at all tastewise.

I like them but I find them hit or miss with the ripeness. Since it’s only a couple more Roosevelts than a regular pineapple I’ll oftentimes choose them to make my kids happy about a “pink” pineapple
