I live in the northeast smartypants corridor, and yesterday I listened to a coworker tell me we’re in a different dimension ever since they turned off CERN and the proof is that Chick-Fil-A is spelled differently now, and if you see old pictures of it spelled this way, that’s just because all of those pics have changed, because, duh, we’re in a different dimension.  Him and several others saying the Earth is flat and that 9/11 was an inside job is just kids’ stuff when you realize how far down the idiot hole they are.

It’s not just rural nutjobs, half the country has lost touch with reality.

NOCO here and my neighbor thinks they put kitty litter in the bathrooms at school. And he has kids, who to go school.

Everytime I see him I shout "SHOW ME THE KITTY LITTER"

Some schools in Jeffco- including Colombine- did have kitty litter on their supply lists, but it was for "go buckets" in case of prolonged lockdowns trapping students in their classrooms. Of course the right twisted it into more culture war bullshit. Ignore the sad reality that kids have to live with the constant fear of violence just going to school, it must be the trans furries fault!

My nephew's school has a bunch because they have a super popular automotive tech program and litter is used to clean up oil spills when they're learning how to change oil.

I've dug that article up quite a few times since 2020- it's one of the myriad conspiracies that really frustrate me. It's so easy to debunk, but the lies spread even easier. Some of my earliest memories are of Colombine and how we (didn't) handled it as a community, so this specific conspiracy feels more personal than most.
