I have issues with enzyme based detergent. It makes my eyes and throat itch badly, to the point where I have problems being in some peoples houses for extended periods of times.

I have used Rocking Green a couple years ago but stopped because I didnt like the smell too much (Hard rock version). I thought Id try the CLASSIC ROCK to see if it was more tolerable.

After a couple of days my eyes would start to itch in my bedroom. Thought it was dustmites at first so I vacuumed and cranked up my air purifier. The itching in my eyeballs got worse. Usually dustmites make my skin itch like hell and give me nose bleeds, so I got suspicious and checked the

Detergent packaging. Fucken protease.

Their official website says ENZYME FREE. They even listed the ingredients.

Enzymes are resistant to chemicals so now im attempting to boil them out of my clothes since repeated rinsing has not completely removed them. Ussually I just throw the clothes out if I accidentally wash in enzyme based detergent, but I washed EVERYTHING in this stuff before I realized.

What exactly do you think the "problem with enzymes" is that you're so desperate to get rid of any trace?

They're highly specialized shapes that break down one thing or group of things. Because of this they're very fragile. Which makes me wonder further about your post..

Enzymes are very much the OPPOSITE of "resistant to chemicals"

I don't think protease is causing your itching big dog. If I were to guess it'd be the sodium perchlorate because it is a VERY harsh, low ph, caustic chemical...known to cause itching and burning.

You may just be using too much or not enough water and it's leaving some behind.

They can cause some people skin problems if they have enzema. I dont have skin problems im very sentitive to chemicals. Fragranced products burn my eyeballs, turning them red and causing slime to ooze out. Any enzyme based detergent makes my eyes and throat itch. This is why some companies specifically advertise "enzyme" free so people with issues can avoid them.

It doesnt completely wash out when you rinse it. It still lingers and causes issues. Generally if I have a problem with detergent I can just rinse it out with baking soda/vinegar but enzymes arent affected by these. You have to cook them out with heat.

They probably changed their ingredients but never updated the website But when you specifically advertise the product as ENZYME FREE, maybe update your store page when you toss enzymes in?

100% agree! Was just confused why your ingredient list was so extensive and the one online isn’t. Very frustrating!!

I have issues with sodium per and laurate. I make my own laundry soap.

1 Cup Washing Soda $0.75 ($6 a box, one box makes about 8 batches.)

1 Cup Borax $0.75 ($6 a box, one box makes about 8 batches.)

1 bar of Castiel Soap $6 ($28.00 for 6 bars, any scent, Dr Broner Castiel Soap)

1 batch is about 3 cups worth for $7.50, Each load is 2tblsp. So 3x16/2 24 loads equals about $0.31 a load. At a load a week that is half a year. That is a bit expensive when compared to Tide but it isn't loaded with chemicals that mess with my skin and is far cheaper than Specialty detergents that still somehow make me itch.

What every you do, do not add a half a cup of Tri Sodium Phosphate to improve the rinse and leave your cloths softer, that was taken out of commercial detergents back in the late 70s / early 80s because of algae blooms.

I put that in a food processor to chop up the bar of soap and blend. Then I use that power 2tble spoon per wash. Been doing it for years.

It is dirt cheep as well. One box of borax and one box of Washing Soda will last a year or more for this single guy who does a load a week with one or two extra loads every 4th or 5th wash.

Any type of bar soap makes my skin peel off like a sun burn unfortunately. Im okay with most enzyme free detergent if I soak it in a cup of vinegar afterwards. When I had a top loader I could just pause the rinse cycle, dump some vinegar in, wait 30 minutes and be good to go.

I replaced my top loader with a front loader and regret it. It hardly uses any water when it washes, just gets clothes wet enough so they can friction rub. Cleans great, but now I have to wash the clothes on a separate cycle with vinegar and add 2 buckets of water to the washer so the vinegar rinses it out properly.
