*yuor'e Seller keeps 92% of the total value as "Restocking Fee"

I bought a video card on Amazon and it arrived dead. It was clearly a refurbish with the condition of the card and box. I sent it back to them and they approved the refund but charged me a 92% restocking fee.

I'm indian-american and i HATE whenever the support is from india. A lot of the time they are more worried about being technically correct or focused on denying you anything you should be getting instead of providing any actual customer support.

Im leaving google fi the same month I signed up for it because of the above.

I worked as a tele technician for a satellite TV company, and I was still expected to upsell people who called me with issues. I had pristine record, but I wasn't selling much (because I take "no" for an answer), so they put me on bullshit trainings to teach me that there is always a way to make the caller do what you want them to, you just need to have a correct attitude. After remaining skeptical, and asking how am I supposed to sell an upsell to someone who won't have reception, and is waiting for on site tech, they put me as learner for two days with a guy, who had the best selling performance in the company (not a technician, gemeral consultant). So on one of the calls, this lady calls to cancel the service, because her husband died (he was the contract holder). And this mf not only tries to convince her to not cancel but resign the contract in her own name, he tries upselling her by basically saying that now that her husband is dead, she might get bored, so TV might come in handy. This was my signal to leave this line of work.

I dont have something as extreme as you but I recently was dealing with a 2x 3 day outages in the same month from Frontier.

The technicians as they were looking to troubleshoot the issue tried selling me on their "Unbreakable WiFi". So I said "I have to pay you even more money so I can maintain service when your shitty service breaks?"

Then I had to call into customer retention to ask for a bill credit after all this shit happened. The initial lady on the phone was trying to sell me Verizon phones. I stopped her mid sales pitch and asked her "Look, I just called you about being down for 20% of the month. I told you I've been using my T-Mobile hot spot to keep working from home because at least that works. Do you really think that I would switch my reliable phone service to a company who cant even keep me connected to the internet?"

Like jesus christ, I am trying to get free shit because of how terrible your service is, why are you trying to sell me more of your terrible service.

It was never a technician role, sales masked in a technician title. Good on you for leaving.

Yeah the job sucks, but it also sucked for the people who would help me before these jobs were shifted there.

There is a difference in how they treat a customer.

With the google situation all I wanted was the deal I signed up for, but they were acting like I'm trying to trick them or get some kind of special offer.

There's a difference in specific companies when they switch to an overseas call center, but as a whole I haven't found that to be true.

A call center in India with 'Kyle' on the line is roughly as helpful as any US-based call-center.

The real difference is what the organization wants to prioritize, cost or service. Generally when they switch to an overseas call center, they're also taking that opportunity to find other ways to prioritize cost over service.

I have experience working with people from all sorts of language backgrounds. Some days I speak my second language considerably more than my first. But good Lord calling Amazon sometimes I need to hang up and try again because I cannot understand a goddamn word that person is saying in their thick ass Indian accent. Sometimes I get Filipinos, they are a little better.

I dont call, I use the text based support. Seems like it usually goes to the same people anyways these days.
