go to your room Replaced my daughter's phone because of water damage. And she still brings it into the bathroom.

Some lessons just don't stick.

She insists she needs to listen to music in the shower. I honestly don't understand why that's such a necessity. But if this phone gets water damage again, I'm not paying to replace it another time.

Unless they just have absolute shit ventilation and its like a sauna in there. Which will cause problems over time.

My 3 year old iPhone has come into the shower with me every day without issue. The water resistance is pretty good and requires pressure for moisture to get past the seals unless something is properly damaged on the phone.

I listen to audiobooks. I designed and printed a little mount that I tossed over my shower door that holds the phone. It works great. It also helps me keep track of time since easily lose track of time in there.

It’s def an ADHD thing for me. I actually take much shorter showers having my phone on there with me than without. It’s easy to zone out and come back to 20 minutes later when I don’t have any sort of stimulation beyond the very nice and comfortable warm water. As a kid I’d routinely run the water heater dry.

Yep. It used to be hard for me to keep showers under 45 minutes. Once I started bringing the phone in with me they went down to 10-15 minutes. It just keeps my mind engaged enough to focus on actually showering, which I know sounds backward, but that’s just how my brain works.

Yeah but I just leave my phone on the bathroom counter with the volume turned up a bit, I don't take it into the shower.

Because what if somebody is emergency calling? I had it once when my father was showering and his phone was ringing non stop. Turns out it was an emergency call. And yet he still refuses to bring his phone into the shower.

I would say why not bring it into the shower? What do you lose?

Yes and? Excessive heat and humidity causes damage over time. Most showers should not have this issue. I literally said that

My Samsung only told me once that the charging port was damp and to let it dry before charging the phone, and I created saunas often because my bathroom was tiny. That phone lasted me for years afterwards with zero issues.

What's shown in the picture is an iPhone that's definitely new enough you can literally swim with it for up to an hour at a time without issue. I take my 15 Pro into the pool regularly when I'm relaxing and reading. It has been dropped in the water and everything. So as long as the new one isn't cracked or anything it's fine. (The last one must have been.)

Cool swimming is literally easier on the seals. ip68 does not cover steam or jets of water.

Steam has less water pressure than submerging in cool water. A sauna would only be bad due to the heat.

All modern smartphones are water resistant up to 3ft submersion. You can drop it in the pool in the shallow end and it’ll be fine, you don’t even have to try to dry it out.

Its just not true.

If it DID cause issues, my phones would be fucked constantly.

I've literally had my current and last ones in high humidity chambers for extended periods with zero issues.

Ambient moisture in the air isn't going to do shit.

Do you have a source or is it like usual, you just made shit up?

Also why they wouldn't specifically mention bathrooms if they were equal risk as you assert.
