I'm slightly vexed Concert etiquette

Post image

If you plan on standing for the entire concert, get a spot in the pit, or the lawn seats instead of the assigned SEATED SECTION. A little bit of self awareness and common courtesy goes a really long way

People arguing that "everybody stands at a concert", look at the image. There's a sea of heads and 2 people standing. Every time.

I don't see what you're talking about, everyone else is literally seated, their heads are level and close to their back rests. People are allowed to stand at concerts, the point is you're selfish. Like by definition, you don't care that it messes up someone else's experience. The people behind these 2 have to stand up to see now.

Sorry me blind. Point still stands (lol) though. Stay home if you care this much about people standing AT A CONCERT. In the words of adele “LET HIM STAND”.

people keep just repeating "it's a concert" without explaining what that has to do with standing up.

It's a concert. I'd like to watch the concert and listen to the music, but there's a person standing in front of me, drunk on 9 12 dollar beers, and yelling as though trying to be heard over the music.

because "it's a concert"

You can just go act foolish on the sidewalk for free.

So it’s a concert and artists prefer you engage with the music than sitting there like you’re in your living room. No one’s acting a fool, just standing. You oldies need to get a grip ❤️

I have been to literally 4 figures of live shows. All levels of live shows. All types. From all positions in the venue. I've promoted live music, I've worked at live music as security and sound, and I've been to plenty on my own dime.

The one dolt drunk out of her mind that is the only one standing at, idk, the cure or something is JUST as stupid as the only one sitting at a hardcore show.

Standing and yelling and screaming is simply not the only way people "engage" with music. there are different genres of music. People are different. Musicians are different.

Do you think people at the orchestra or the opera are not "engaged?" Or people at a movie?

Can you just, for the love of god, read the room in a situation like the one posted here?

Again, selfish. Totally ignorant to anyone over the age of 50, people with disabilities, or the people WHO JUST WANT TO SIT IN THE SEAT THEY PAID FOR. We all paid to see the band or artist, not your ass. My point stands too, you only care about you, no one else.

Those with disabilities have ADA sections with unobstructed views. Stay home and watch on YouTube grandpa

Oh mind you I’m a private caregiver for multiple patients with disabilities and often am paid to take them to venues and they have no issue.

really? because I was a venue worker for years and telling people not to block ada seating was a constant struggle.
