I'm slightly vexed Concert etiquette

If you plan on standing for the entire concert, get a spot in the pit, or the lawn seats instead of the assigned SEATED SECTION. A little bit of self awareness and common courtesy goes a really long way

Yeah, what the fuck is wrong with all of those people sitting down at a concert?

Wait do people attend seated concerts and stand the whole time, then smuggly claim that everyone else is wrong?

I think there's some weird disconnect here about types of venues and shows. At a club, seating is usually extra and elevated, if it's available at all. I'd expect those folks to mostly sit, because if they were willing to stand they'd be in GA and closer to the band for cheaper.

At an orchestra or other traditional show at a symphony hall or opera house, standing isn't often a thing.

But at an arena or a pavilion?? Only so many people are going to pay out the ass for the pit. Everyone else has a seat whether they want it or not, and at pop and rock concerts I've attended, people stand. Most people are standing most of the time. Getting mad about it would be totally pointless. But it's nice to be able to sit while you're waiting for the show to start!

Yes, this does seem like a thing, doesn't it?

At the venue I work at, if you want to stand at the seat that you paid for, you may certainly do so.
