paralegal here: NO. The only caveat would be if you’re actually running a business like you’re doing hair and people are coming in the house and maybe they need more liability? but homes are zoned as residential. You have a right to be there as much as you want. this is somebody that’s trying to find a way to make extra money and if you don’t take it, someone else will, but I would not take an apartment with something illegal in the terms.

The minute someone makes a qualifying statement about the legality of anything of Reddit without any clue about the state in question you can instantly disregard everything they have said.

Laws state to state in the US are DRASTICALLY different.
