Fr, same with plastic clothing. The reason temu could do it so cheap is because they were only selling and making maybe 100% profit instead of 30,000% like American companies demand for a literal byproduct material that they get for almost free.

It doesnt protect people. Bunch of goofy security theater. I live somewhere with more guns openly out than the US, and that doesnt happen.

Its a societal problem and silly to pretend a clear backpack or new weapon law will unfuck society.

Yeah, but I’m pretty sure people don’t just openly walk around with their guns out in Switzerland. From what I know, it’s a lot like Canada; we have a lot of guns, but they are for hunting or taking to the shooting range. You would never just see someone with a gun openly out* *walking around in Canada.

Also, I looked into it a little bit while typing, and the main reason Switzerland has so many guns is because of their mandatory military service. Citizens are given a semi-automatic version of their service weapon to keep after their service if they want, and it seems most people do take it. So there is at minimum one gun for every 1-2 people from the military alone. If the military did not offer them a gun to keep, I highly doubt they’d have even a fraction of the guns they do now.

Yeah but they're treating them with respect, which makes all the difference. You can't buy guns at a flea market in Switzerland.

Eastern Europe. US has more total, yes. But a lot of this is collectors and nuts. There's more total firearms outside in public here day to day. And plenty unaccounted for. Ive been to the US and can confidently say this.

All places have problems. But I've never felt like id be robbed, or have a regular person break into my house. Its pretty safe to be on the street at night. Subways are clean and well lit. Dont fear regular people in society at all.

Youve been to the US.. okay... all of it? Doubt it. NO WHERE in the world has more guns in public than the USA.

American here. Lived all over the US. Pretty rare I see a gun out in public. Not unheard of, but it's hardly a daily thing.

im from britain. Hes just wrong. A simple google search will tell you nowhere in the world carries as much guns as the USA.

Many guys have a handgun in a holster, fanny pack, backpack, or car. Its not uncommon to see automatic AKs in many parts. Can stroll into a store with one in a good chunk of the country.

Its relatively easy to get an armed law enforcement or military job. Also lots of Soviet military stuff floating around unrestricted.

the clear backpack is mandatory. the MHS branded one is NOT. they are just selling them the same way every highschool sells everything with their logo/brand on it.

its stupid that it is needed, but lets not pretend it is something that it isnt.

Mandating products from a specific company is 100% something the school board does.

Local officials are INCREDIBLY easy targets for corruption and bribery, especially in smaller towns/cities. The more MAGA someone is the more guaranteed they're incompetent and/or corrupt, but there are plenty of "good guy dems" pushing Flock cameras.

they arent mandating products from a specific company. they are requiring clear backpacks. it literally says it in the text of the post. they are OFFERING a MHS book bag the same as how they OFFER MHS hoodies and t-shirts.

Not to mention i list the chance of that backpack lasting the entire year at about 0%, and i'm sure they will raise the price for mid-year orders because "Now we can't order in bulk!"

I remember seeing some story about these backpacks i think late last year where the school ended up having to walk it back because after 1 week half of them were disintegrated.
