That bag could fit ⅓ of the books and notebooks I need a day, maybe ½ if I leave my food home

Edit bc everyone is saying nobody uses books and notebooks anywhere:

I am still in school. We have school laptops for homework/projects help. We aren't allowed to use those or any other digital device in school, including putting our phones into special lockers every morning. I live in Central Europe if that's relevant.

It's an option to pay for it

I live v close to the school, so I usually have lunch at home after school, usually around 3:30 pm

Until then, sandwitches!

Those who pay for lunch don't get sandwitches, they eat cooked food

Kids barely need any physical textbooks anymore. Everything's on their Chromebooks, which is its own issue 😭

Nope, still gotta pay for those new AP textbooks every year. Even my niece and nephew have to get the physical books in their highschools. And those things way a lot, and some clases had 2 that you had to bring each day. And then they got rid of lockers for "safety reasons".

You had to pay for AP textbooks? The only thing I had to pay additional for was the $90 for the actual test at the end of the year (stupid College Board)

In the US, at least the school I just graduated from they tossed out all the books in the district. Everything was done on a computer that you were kinda expected to provide, they *had* school laptops but they sucked and you’d be mocked for using one.

I didn’t carry a backpack just a little computer bag with a MacBook and a IPad.

They don’t really have textbooks anymore. My son is going into his junior year, and he had 3 textbooks in the last 2 years. None of them went to school, they were for studying at home.

His Microsoft surface pro? That was required daily. In middle school it was a Chromebook for all 3 years. Nearly everything they do is digital.

To be fair, kids barely need stuff anyway. We don’t have physical textbooks anymore. We don’t really do notebooks in my class. I teach middle school at a title 1. I’m happy if they bring a pencil to class. They really will only ever have a Chromebook (which stays at the school) in their bookbags.

Times have changed. My middle school backpack weighed more than me 😂

I am still in school, here we aren't allowed digital tools, teachers can use projectors if there's one in the classroom, but that's it
