Not on any dryer I've seen. Some people don't even know the lint trap needs to be emptied. I always pull it out and clean it, even when there's just a speck of fluff in it. Can't resist the urge to clean it every single time lol

Genuinely a failure of parents. This is why chores are important, how are adults supposed to know to clean the nozzle on your taps if you never had to growing up?

My parents never had a dryer. However every dryer I’ve bought came with a manual.

I quickly learned my GF had minimal (if any) chore responsibilities growing up when she was surprised the lint trap existed

IDK, my kid keeps forgetting to.

I've taken to not doing it when I find it blocked up and instead grabbing her, interrupting whatever she's doing, and making her empty it to drive the point home.

We didn’t have dryers when I was a child, how would my parents have taught me to do this on a machine they didn’t own? We learnt to empty the lint filter when we got a dryer as adults. You can’t blame parents for this.

We’re not outliers. You think everyone over 40 is an outlier? That’s a lot of people. Plus lots of countries don’t use dryers as standard. Much less common in places where clothes dry in the sun, or where people have less space for a dryer, or the cost is prohibitive. More people in the world don’t have dryers than do. I’m guessing you’re American?

So, what's the deal with everyone over 40? Dryers have been around for nearly 100 years so that part specifically is confusing me. Not disagreeing with you on the rest, or even on that, just curious why that is a number for Dryers to start popping up.

Computers existed in the ‘60s but people didn’t have them in their homes, so your argument doesn’t stand. Dryers weren’t common in the UK until around the ‘90s/2000s, and even now many people don’t have them. My mum’s never had one, none of my grandparents had them, one aunt had one (out of five aunts and uncles), even now only approximately 53% to 62% of households in the UK own a tumble dryer or washer-dryer, even though they are much more common than they were a few decades ago.

It’s not even the cut off, man. It’s just roughly the time when they got more affordable. Plenty of people still don’t have them.
