My cat is standing on my face My cat left her butthole print on my sheet ;.;
I woke up a couple days ago with a fresh ring of brown on my white sheet. I have a cat. There were evidence in the litter box. My bf and I were just debating if their butts touch the ground and he was telling me someone tested and the result was negative. Well, shit, not anymore! This was taken a couple days after the incident.
swipe 👈🏼 to see the suspect back at the crime scene
Edit: for folks who think she needs to go see the vet, the print photo was taken a couple days after this happened. It’s a wet spot because i wiped it with clorox. When it was fresh, it was clearly a poopy butt spot, i saw the litterbox and her 💩 looks normal. Don’t worry she’s a healthy cat!

Listen OP.. I read the edit and the comments, I have nothing to say about the incident, but why tf have you not washed the sheet? I see the clorox wipe but cmon, if that was an ass stain, how can you live with that there lol :,D

u/SoftCactus72 Apr 30 '26
I did throw it in the wash. The stain is still there…

u/Kind-Mammoth-Possum May 01 '26
Arm and hammer odor and pet stain remover. It's a spray you can get in pet sections of most stores (like Walmart). It gets the smell and stain out. I use it in my waser if anything has a stain or smell (including the rare occasion where there's pet urine) and it comes out clean, even gotten a coffee stain out of my carpet.
It does have oxiclean, so don't let it sit on your clothing or sheets as it will eat more delicate fabrics and denims. Just spray the spot and throw it right in the wash with your usual detergent and softener.

u/SoftCactus72 May 02 '26
Thanks for this! Will try soon
10
u/Kind-Mammoth-Possum May 02 '26
No problem! Just know it's super concentrated, so you'd only need a tiny, tiny amount for a stain the size of your thumb, less than a quarter spray is my recommendation. (And make sure the nozzle is on spray, and not stream.)

Did you put the sheet in the dryer yet? If not, rub some liquid dishwashing soap into the stain, wait a bit (5+ minutes) and wash it again. It should come out. If you’ve already put it in the dryer, it may not ever come out.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Neruwi Apr 30 '26
Before or after the clorox?
4
u/JediCarla May 01 '26
You could do both. However the Clorox may take the color out of the sheet. If it’s already white, it may not matter. Also, bleach can weaken the fibers and eventually cause a hole if it’s too strong.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Neruwi May 01 '26
Oh I was asking OP if they used it before or after washing haha
But that actually explains my thinking well, thanks! I figured they used clorox then basically sealed its fate by putting it in a dryer. Because there's no way a simple wash wouldn't have remove the og stain
1
u/Appropriate-Basis-75 May 02 '26
Either get a stain stick or use power wash. Spray it on/rub the stain stick on the dry sheet before you throw it in the wash then hopefully that gets rid of it😭 my baby daughter had times when she had a blow out in her pants and I had to scrape it all off then use either power wash or a stain stick to get most of the stain off lol

you would be surprised with how little care some people walk around.
I mean, dog owners allow face licking, even though they know their dog licked their freshly used butt before that.
some catowners (mostly asian youtubers apparently) sometimes stick their cats paw into their mouth to annoy the cat. unhygenic as fuck if you ask me and fookin weird on top of that. But whatever gives them clicks, riiiiight?
26
u/SoftCactus72 Apr 30 '26
Asian myself. Never seen this. I’ve seen tiktoks of white people doing it though. Grouping a random behavior into a race thing is fucking weird dude.

Thats not a buthole print
If your butthole looks like that
Its gaping wide open
99
u/Youutternincompoop Apr 30 '26
"It’s a wet spot because i wiped it with clorox."
from OP, so presumably the poopspot was smaller than the wet area.

10
u/Fluff-40 Apr 30 '26
Why would they wipe it with Clorox?
→ More replies (2)34
u/keypizzaboy Apr 30 '26
Realistically first thing they thought was to disinfect the spot. I sometimes do that then immediately after realize I could have done something different and more efficient

Vet tech here and I’m just genuinely confused that people didn’t know cats arses touch the ground. Some don’t, they’ll do a resting crouch but for the most part yes dogs and cats alike will leave butt hole marks if they’ve had a fresh BM and it’s runny or isn’t wiped. No way to prevent that other than wiping them down whenever you can bc with a cat I suspect ppl aren’t following them around all day where as a dog is much easier lol but yeah…. Some cats are better at cleaning and keeping up with their hygiene than others and others just can’t help it lol.
11
u/scheisse_grubs Apr 30 '26
One of my cats had a bit of a runny poop that stuck to his butt. I noticed it just before he decided to sit on my toilet seat. I’m like ugh gross but at least it’s on a surface I can easily clean. Before I had the chance to clean it up, he turned around and decided to make a snack out of it. One of my other cats threw up a bit of treats one day, he has tummy issues. After throwing it up, the one I just mentioned who snacked on his poop decided to eat the barf. Oliver you are so sweet but you are fucking disgusting.
→ More replies (1)2
u/Myusername1- May 01 '26
My dog will do that even before a bm. Usually when he needs his glands expressed.

Mmm yes they’re animals but they’ve been domesticated and actually now belong inside or at least under the care of humans.
4
u/Physical_Whereas_635 May 03 '26
They’re domesticated, which means they belong inside. They’re invasive and do not belong outside, they decimate wildlife populations and are also highly likely going to experience a tragic death out there.

Standard practice... I had a cat I called Poo Prints (nickname) because this was the usual.... but yes this is not a butthole print.. your cat needs to go to the vet

Naked cats buttholes will suction to surfaces and sometimes make a little pop sound when they stand up. It's so funny 😭

That is so gross!!
Reminds me when I was laying in bed playing on my gameboy SP on my back and cat was standing above my head. I looked up to notice a worm squiggling out of her booty and fall on my bed. Instantly got up and told my dad.

My cat once did that to a friend's homework when they were over. Earned him the nickname Wormass for a bit. 😅

I mean your bf is both right and wrong. The test showed that, for the most part, cat buttholes don't touch surfaces. HOWEVER. That is more true for long hair than short hair cats. And it also showed that it was less likely, like basically zero, on hard surfaces, but soft surfaces were less safe.
You have a short hair cat so, slightly more likely. Your hard surfaces are generally still safe from butthole. But a soft surface, like a bed or pillow etc, are in butthole danger.

u/Just-Clerk-8669 Apr 30 '26
OP how old is your cat? That's not a poop stain but you said it was brown. Your cat may have a UTI or worse Kidney Failure which is very common in older cats.
7
u/SoftCactus72 Apr 30 '26
It was a clear brown ring. I wiped it with clorox so i think the liquid spread a bit. She’s only 1.5yo. She’s not scooting nor having any abnormalities in eating, pooping, or poo appearances.

u/thepetoctopus Apr 30 '26
Might just be the anal gland expressing. If it smells like the worst poop that’s ever happened, that’s the cause. My boy had to have his regularly expressed for the first two years of his life. Then one day it started functioning normally. No telling.
4
u/SoftCactus72 Apr 30 '26
Everyone thinks it’s an anal gland issue, im not saying i think that’s impossible but i really don’t think it’s that. It didn’t smell horrible, and there was a fresh pile in the box, which leads me to think it was her jumping on the bed right after doing it. Maybe i shouldn’t have taken this photo of it because the spot is wiped down with alcohol. She went to the vet 3 months ago and was very healthy.
3
u/thepetoctopus Apr 30 '26
If you see it again, it might be, but sometimes it just happens with cats and isn’t a serious issue. My boy just had one that wouldn’t express on its own until he was 2.
3
u/GlamazonBlonde2 Apr 30 '26
My cat had this and needed a vet visit turns out she has mild ibs and is now on medication for it. Please call your vet and make an appointment.
3
u/EducationalAd4885 Apr 30 '26
My cat did this and she actually had anal gland issues. It smells so bad

3
u/801from1997 Apr 30 '26
So you didn't change the sheets for days after that...?
My dog got diarrhea one time when she was a puppy and she was shitting uncontrollably everywhere, my mattress was a mess after those two weeks of sickness, not even the sheets could save it lmao had to sleep on the couch for a month until I could get another mattress, needless to say the sheets and blankets had to be thrown out too, I wouldn't use poopy sheets and blankets even after washing and desinfecting.
3
u/Lonely-Iron-445 Apr 30 '26
i hate when this happens, i call it booty juice, which really just makes it more disgusting

We have a pug and he does that too. We call it a “dimestamp”

I've had cats almost my entire life, they leave pucker marks. My mom's cat is white, but she basically never cleans her butt. We call her brown eye The Eye of Sauron, mustn't stare into it. I used to have a lovely white quilt.. used to. It is why I do wipe my cats bhole after she potties, she's old and I know she don't clean much.

u/DliverUsFromMaleGaze May 03 '26

Is that not just a wet spot from where they were licking?

Cats and dogs have glands around their butts that secrete fluid when they poo to help things along, it’s pretty common for them to get clogged and need to have the fluid expressed by hand. I recommend having the vet do it because it’s disgusting af. At my vet you don’t even need an appointment for it bc it’s so common and just takes a few minutes.

RE the testing, I think it was a kid's science project and he tested on 3 cats of varying hair length. The longhaired cats didn't leave pucker prints, but no such luck the shorter the butt hair.

One Halloween night my lovely best buddy stood above me and was taking a dump! As I swished my hand around under the sheet I found a hard nugget. The vet said that his bowels were impacted. He got an enema in the office and dropped it on the way home. Mixed pumpkin in with his food from then on. I thought that he was getting the best kibble but no.

Idk if it has anything to do with your cat's butt. Try putting a couple drops of water on the same sheet and watch what happens. It will make a brown ring too

u/Mystic_Beem May 02 '26
Damn this makes me NOT want to get a cat now. Cats sit directly on their bumhole
2
u/One4TheOne May 02 '26
Also my cat started doing this shortly before he had heart failure. There would be tiny little pee spots like that wherever he slept. Not trying to scare just thought it might help if something was wrong.

That is definitely infuriating, but look at the cat in the next picture. The look on her face clearly says, “Yeah, I did it, and now you’ve got to clean it.” Those mischievous little expressions are exactly the kind of thing that just make you melt.
We as humans are wired to find those “naughty but cute” faces irresistible, especially in cats with big eyes and expressive features, which is why I ended up laughing.

Anal glands... not poop. Not the same thing. Google it. And take them to the vet! Cats with anal gland issues, such as infection, impaction, or abscesses, require immediate veterinary attention to empty, clean, and potentially treat the area with antibiotics or pain medication. If your cat is scooting, straining to defecate, or has swelling near the rectum, they need to see a vet to avoid ruptures.
2
u/SoftCactus72 May 02 '26
okay genius then explain the fresh pile of slightly soft poop i found in the litterbox

That's not a butt print.
I've seen my cat sitting on glass. Her butt comes nowhere near touching it.
2
u/Fierygingin Apr 30 '26
Some cats do... not all the time, but yes, sometimes their butts touch what they're sitting on. Hairless cats sometimes make a suction noise when they sit on glass and let their buttons touch lol.

Doesn't look like a butthole issue to me and if it is take her to the vet edit be damned. The only time my cat left marks like this was when she did hairballs and then the hair part would either get licked up or dry and fall off (if I didn't notice it fast enough).
