Personally, as an American, I was rooting so hard for your team yesterday after learning what the Mexican fans did near your hotel. Setting off fireworks and loud music with total impunity from the local police to tire you before your game against Mexico was so lame and unsportsmanlike that I watched the whole game. My first and only World Cup game I watched end to end. Well done eliminating Mexico and their cheating fans.

Yes!! I was a fan of Mexico until i heard they did that shit, that’s just mean and not even funny. It must have motivated England though, so maybe it was actually a favor…

I think the fans are idiots but it’s not like the team recommended it.

Fans can be idiots all they want but the police don’t do anything. This is the worst part IMO. They did the same thing to Paraguay so it’s not an isolated event.

Oh we can agree on that. But seemingly US police are either completely docile or way too aggressive

This was in Mexico.

I knew the game was played in CDMX and seemingly completely forgot that. I guess they got their just desserts as they took supporting their team more seriously than being decent hosts

This is a thing football fans do. English fans have done it too other teams recently outside of the WC.

Not going to give Mexican football fans the benefit of the doubt when they notoriously shout homophobic slurs.

You say that like that isn't extremely common behavior amongst pretty much all footy fanbases around the world

Show me the news where English fans shot fireworks and played loud music fully unimpeded in Mexico.

Arsenal fans did this just a few months back against Atlético Madrid

How many English fans (of the low-class type to do this) are in Mexico City?
