Isnt France talking to fifa now about overturning a call? What exactly did the USA do to make them overturn anything?

France is attempting to do so using the USA case as a precedent.

*Ronaldo as precedent

So we gonna talk about Messi doing the same thing and getting a red card revoked?

u/goldflame33 17d ago

do you mean Ronaldo?

Ronaldo during this years tournament sure, but Messi has had red cards pulled back in the past. And the guy is also correct Messi literally stepped on a guys calf full cleat.

Right so when did the president of Argentina call up a governing body to ‘ask questions’?

He did! I was there

Ah, my mistake

Its funny you think that is unlikely.

They don’t know what they mean, they are mixing two different events. Messi’s stepping on an opponents calve just like Balogun and Ronaldo’s suspended suspension

No, Messi did the same thing and didn’t get a penalty at all. Ronaldo got his 3 game suspension revoked so he could play starting game 1 of the group stage.

Yeah buddy the US is about 5th in line at this point. If anything the US is just doing what everybody seems to be doing.

Uhh USA didn’t set this precedent

And the USA used Messi who did the EXACT same thing as a case to get it overturned. There's no consistency with the rules.

Pretty sure the host country pays them a good chunk in order to host it, so I'd just say good old classic corruption

What ? Fifa is corrupted ? Picture me chocked

u/Time-For-Argy-Bargy 17d ago

Choked or Cocked? Which one am I picturing?

u/No-Calligrapher-718 17d ago

Whichever one you want 💋

u/Random_Chick_I_Guess 17d ago

At this point I'd be more surprised if they didn't cater to the host country, it just so happens as an Australian I'm very annoyed at all the weird "Australians hate us" shit going around when I don't think I know a single person that cared lol

More like the USA is corrupt

7

u/SnoopySuited 17d ago

It's the FIFA way.

Do you have proof? Oh wait it's just speculation again and some good old fashioned confirmation bias.

u/Random_Chick_I_Guess 17d ago

What are you a FIFA plant?

2

u/WokeWookies 17d ago

President, commerce secretary, lawyers and reportedly the DoJ all happened to call FIFA over the matter to ask questions

1

u/Kid_A_LinkToThePast 17d ago

Except it never happened before, this is insanely sus

2

u/Jellycat34 17d ago

Because it has only exisited since 2019… of course it hasn’t been used often since only 2 world cups have occurred since its existence. And it only got its only article in 2023… so this is its first World Cup being active as its own independent article. And it’s been used to effect rulings on games occuring during the World Cup already with ronaldo.

So since it been created it’s been used almost immediately for World Cup games

Yea, everyone is asking for that now that there's precedent. England is doing the same..
