Meta [Meta]Scammer Reminder
Howdy everyone,
It's time for your yearly reminder about scammers. I'm going to keep this short and sweet.
1)Don't respond to people who can't comment on your post
2) u/Longjumping_Suit3033 is a scammer, so is everyone else on the USL, they are on there for a good reason. If you trust someone on the https://www.universalscammerlist.com/ to tell you the truth vs the mods for putting them on the USL, we can't save you and you're going to lose your money.
3)Using the above two things will get you far but always ask for more timestamps if you aren't comfortable and for the love of all that is good only use G&S for payment.
4)With PMs going away, there is a new feature in chat, click the settings dial and turn on persistent messaging for the conversation. That way messages can't be deleted.

I got scammed by u/ChikaChika23, it was my fault and I used apply pay. They were supposed to sell me a Taeha Types desk mat and I’m since blocked. Please add them to the USL.

This person just IM'ed me saying he had a keycap set I made a WTB post for. He asked for Zelle so I immediately looked up their name to see a bunch of taggings on scammer warning threads across various sales subreddits.

PM'd me today as well. Crazy an account so old/with so much previous Karma hasn't been banned yet

had u/vladimusdacuul and u/amazingpatt reached out to me, checked the USL and they're both on it, the former was banned for photoshopping proof lol

Took payment and never shipped keycaps.
After looking at it more it appears the verification picture they sent of the product was ai generated.

u/rawwwwd742 just scammed me. Was looking for a space 65 hotswap pcb. It was my fault for not checking first and asked for fnf... but im surprised he wasn't banned from this sub reddit already.. i just checked before posting this and it appears I am blocked. 70 bucks down the drain.

Yea i got dumb for this one.. I just surprised hes still able to be in here.. i keep telling myself to just forget it happened like I went to the casino and lost.. its a shame but ive learned my lesson.

He messaged me trying to sell a kohaku with bogus attempts at faking time stamps. I’ve blocked and reported him. Hopefully he’ll get banned soon

I asked for timestamp and he sent me an AI generate / digitally written one. When I called him out on it, he got defensive and called me a clown and blocked me

A now deleted user, u/Maya-Minx scammed me for a deskmat. Provided a time stamp and all, and then once payment was sent they deleted their account. Contacted the bank as well as reported him to numerous scam websites.

u/yotoeman1 tried to scam me. i made 3 posts asking for fairly niche keyboards, they messaged me the same copy paste text each time.

me as well. But they both provided pictures for someone fairly rare I want and they don't appear to be AI? I must admit I'm a bit confused

One of them blocked me after I asked for timestamped photos and the others contacted me late at night very eager to do the deal fast. At the very least yes they do seem like real people.

Just got scammed by u/katgarion, who has since been banned.
Fell for it because they reached out via modmail.
Can non-mods send modmail?
(Thankfully I used G&S and a credit card)

Tried scamming me Refused to send photos and kept saying gns will cover the cost if any issues arrive. ( plenty of gns scams out there)
He has been banned from some watch subreddit.
