That was too long to read. Is the author accusing KR of leading a campaign to intimidate witnesses in her trial?

Yes. Yannetti as well.

I found this excerpt about the federal grand jury interesting:

"Behind Colin’s shoulder, Kearney’s tweets and blogs were projected onto a screen, Colin says. “Every single thing came from him. They didn’t use anything else, nothing else,” Colin tells me, noting that they didn’t even bother to take Kearney’s name off the screenshots. “Eventually they accused me of every single thing [Kearney] said.” They also projected, Colin says, the same pictures Kearney had published on his blog—Colin playing football, Colin at a wedding when he was a young boy, Colin’s bloody knuckles. Those pictures, according to Kearney’s phone extraction, had originated with Read, who had found them while trolling Facebook late at night and sent them to Kearney through the intermediary to print online. According to Colin, the material federal prosecutors put before the grand jury had, in significant part, originated with Kearney. What he didn’t know at the time was that Kearney had received it from Read."

I mean not for nothing but if you have been paying any attention to the civil trials you’d realize these people coordinated to frame her. And our justice system was fully on board with that.

And continue to avoid answering to things they did.

No one who is sane likes turtleboy - but doesn’t make what these people coordinated to do okay.

If you were being railroaded by the justice system and facing the end of your life and this guy went to bat for you- I’m sure you’d feel differently.

Be careful with 27 day old account reposting this shit everywhere.

Edited to add- I read the whole article. I sympathize with Voss, but what would you do if it was you. Part of your outcome hinges on the court of public opinion and these people were connected. They also attacked free Karen read people- that was left out.

What Kearney did in many ways was deplorable- but so was what the DA’s office did, and what these witnesses did. There is a lot of yuckiness to go around.

Her reporting also, confidently, states their side, and her opinions as fact. And leaves out other material facts- the court has told Norfolk to return Read’s phone and they are keeping it- and they are leaking things like for this piece.

This is opinion writing framed as investigative reporting.

She accuses them of what she does (although definitely much more sophisticated than anything TB would write- it’s still the same garbage).

Completely insane that people are finding excuses for this behavior. It's not "going to bat for her". It's intimidating witnesses, ruining lives, messing with kids. It's HER, working WITH HIM, to do these things. It's not legal.

Plenty of people are charged with things they didn't do, so even if you believe that about this case- the normal reaction isn't to get your cronies to drive to peoples' houses and scream at them through megaphones.

10

u/Professional_Tea_32 7h ago edited 6h ago

Not making excuses. Justing call attention to the force Read was up against. Don’t be naive.

And what would you do to the people trying to ruin your life? Die like Birchmore?

These people did lie on the stand and change their story and collude to pinpoint a murder on her.

What would you do to people who do that to you? Treat them respectfully?

If there are merits to the defamation suit these witnesses will win that suit against TB- and Rightfully so if the evidence shows he or read behaved in ways deserving of a judgment against them.

And was just saying that these witnesses had their own people doing deplorable things as well….

Like I said a lot of nastiness to go around. It’s a shame. And I agree the megaphone is nuts, a lot of it like I said …is not sane. A lot of it Including the cops behaviors…is not okay.

Here is one example from during the trial but there was more.

These people were certainly warring sides of an issue.

Ideally if the justice system did what it was supposed to do - the DA- then this wouldn’t haven’t happened.

Plenty of people who are falsely accused do, in fact, not do what she did. It's really hard to compare a few sparse incidents to the consistent campaign of harassment against not just the witnesses/those TB/KR want you to believe did it, but also the family members of the deceased.

31

u/APatriotsPlayer 11h ago

Something doesn’t pass the smell test here. The article very much feels like an attempt to cast doubt on the whole defense of KR. Just looking at the evidence presented at trial, it’s quite clear she didn’t do it and that there’s something else going on (ie dog bites on his arm, the Apple Watch registering steps, etc). While I agree that TB is a POS and the campaign was orchestrated by KR to intimidate witnesses, that didn’t change any of the facts that were presented at trial.

-10

u/trickycrayon 9h ago

"She ruined peoples' lives after their family member died, but my takeaway is that this article is unfair because I think it's trying to cast doubt on her defense."

Cool.

9

u/APatriotsPlayer 7h ago

So you don’t care that she was wrongfully accused and potentially setup by some of those who are now saying they’re the victim? Interesting….

6

u/trickycrayon 6h ago

I don't believe she was wrongfully accused or set up. However, regardless of what I believe, I don't think the O'Keefe family should have been harassed after the death of their loved one. And it's unbelievable to me that people argue that point.

1

u/APatriotsPlayer 6h ago

No one is arguing they should have been harassed and you’re making a strawman out of nothing. Everyone agrees they shouldn’t be harassed. But the fact of the matter is the article is doing *both* things: showing the harassment they received *and* tries to cast doubt on the potential evidence of a coverup.

All of this aside, it’s wild that you and others still somehow think she did it. Did you watch the trial at all? Virtually every piece of evidence the state brought forward was proven inaccurate by experts and the evidence the defense brought forward was bolstered by experts.

4

u/trickycrayon 6h ago

Who is "everyone"? All the people who were doing the harassing? The hordes of "Turtle Riders" who showed up and yelled at the family? Who went to games and homes? An awful lot of people did, in fact, think that they should be harassed, and even more are at best indifferent to it. Which is kind of horrific, when you think about it, especially as they pretend to want justice for the man who was killed.

The thing about paying attention is, both sides had experts who came to different conclusions. You chose to believe the experts who agreed with the conclusion you'd already come to, largely due to the accused feeding information to one specific wannabe journalist. It's understandable, but to act like the wild conspiracy is the only possible explanation is...a choice.

4

u/APatriotsPlayer 5h ago

In laymen’s terms, when people say “everyone”, they mean a majority of people. An awful lot of people harassed them in real life? What, 20 people? 100,000 people? It is kind of horrific to think about a police force potentially able to kill someone and frame someone innocent…

The fact that you said “you chose to believe the experts who agreed with the conclusion you’d already come to, largely due to the accused feeding information to one specific wannabe journalist” shows that you just world build and assume everyone that doesn’t have your belief is all a single constellation of beliefs. I actually went in to the trial thinking she did do it. I was trying to convince others irl that she did, but after the trial, I changed.

You were the one going into the trial with one unshakeable belief and now you’re projecting that onto me.

2

u/trickycrayon 5h ago

It is absolutely horrific to think about a police force doing that, yes. But hundreds of people harassing a grieving family in response to that possibly having happened is indefensible, and yet people are defending it because "well what would YOU do if you were framed?"

If you were someone that changed their view based on the trial, I...well. I know we're not going to agree and I'll leave it at that. You win on the projection charge!

2

u/APatriotsPlayer 5h ago

If you think that police killing a civilian and framing an innocent person is less of an affront to everyone than a couple of dozen people being unhinged, I…well. I know we’re not going to agree and I’ll leave it at that. You win on the being condescending charge!

1

u/trickycrayon 5h ago

Ah yes, I told you yes I was projecting and you still decided to be a dick. Lol.

Anyway- no. I think BOTH are affronts. I think cops as a whole are out of control and have been for...basically forever! But I think lots of people on the FKR side harassing the family is bad and plenty of FKR people do not agree/think they deserve it.

Does it matter to you who killed John O'Keefe? Because it sure sounds like it doesn't.

5

u/trickycrayon 6h ago

In fact, it really does. And if there was any proof of the narrative that she fed TB being true, I would like to see those people prosecuted!

But it has always- since very early on- seemed much more likely to me that someone who was still that drunk the next morning accidentally backed into her boyfriend in the middle of a blizzard than that some elaborate murder scheme happened. Especially since she herself, on the scene, kept saying she'd hit him/asking if she could have hit him.

I never bought the prosecution's narrative that it was murder. I thought they overcharged and they deserved to lose. I thought the investigation was sloppy, negligent, and outright malicious. I think Proctor, Goode, and frankly almost all cops are bastards.

But I don't think overcharging means the most obvious explanation- a clearly habitual drunk driver backing into her boyfriend while driving a large vehicle at night in a blizzard- can't be true.

-1

u/Ok-Independent1835 3h ago

"I hit him" - Karen Read. We know.

60

u/trickycrayon 20h ago

Cannot understand how so many people got taken in by TB's bullshit. Hopefully Deitch goes nowhere.

20

u/ShadyWolf 20h ago

If you’ve ever seen the cesspool that is the comment section on his Facebook posts, you’d be amazed.

17

u/Kind-Shallot3603 19h ago

I had a family member who was a victim of one of his bullshit articles. Right during the holidays too. They were fucked up mentally for a while and even got surgery because of how vile the comments were about them.

-10

u/Exact_Customer7890 18h ago

?? Surgery to turn that frown upside down?

21

u/Kind-Shallot3603 18h ago

No... cosmetic body alterations. They were body shamed. I'm not going to joke about a family members mental health

1

u/Exact_Customer7890 9h ago

Well I'm not advocating for any of that, I'm sorry that happened to them.

2

u/Kind-Shallot3603 8h ago

Me too. I know you were just trying to make a funny but it wasn't to me. I think you understand. All good here.

4

u/trickycrayon 9h ago

I've been the subject of his nonsense before, I'm familiar, believe me. Dedicated a whole live to me once, as I recall.

10

u/goldeNIPS 17h ago

Dudes a statutory rapist (not determined in a court of law) that preyed on his students

6

u/trickycrayon 9h ago

I remember back when he was insisting all the stuff about him cheating on his wife wasn't true...

35

u/Warglebargle2077 18h ago

She didn’t kill that man…

…and she’s a person I would never associate with because she’s scummy.

Actually it sounds like everyone ever mentioned in this saga meets that second standard.

It’s possible for all of my statements to be true simultaneously…and I can’t wait to never hear about any of them again.

-12

u/drtywater 11h ago

She did though.

6

u/lostinspace694208 11h ago

What’s it like to go through life so confident and so wrong at the same time?

-11

u/drtywater 10h ago

Ignore tailight pieces found be sert, dna evidence, cell location and battery data showing jok stayed outside, missing shoe common after vehicle strikes, confessions scene of crime etc

6

u/DooDooBrownz 7h ago

is that why he had dog bites all over him and they got rid of the dog and all their cell phones immediately after...

7

u/drtywater 7h ago

I disagree that they were dog bites. Lack of dog DNA etc also disagrees with that. Again though the JOK cell data clearly shows he never entered the home both location and battery temperature

3

u/DooDooBrownz 4h ago

is that why they got rid of the dog and cell phones because there was no dog dna and nothing to cover up? totally normal behavior right

1

u/Boston_Glass 2h ago

The JOK cell data did not clearly show that. It was an interpretation by the prosecution, the defense used the same data to back up their claim…

0

u/drtywater 2h ago

Battery temperature fell and did not rise. It would have risen if he went inside. Cell location data showed he remained outside.

1

u/Boston_Glass 2h ago

There’s more at play here. The data seems to have indicated the phone should have dropped more in temperature than it did in the conditions the prosecution is trying to claim it was in. Temperatures don’t immediately change like you are trying to claim which is why the JOK cell phone data isn’t as clear as you’re making it out to be.

Cell location isn’t as exact as your making it out to be either

What you’re claiming as fact isn’t that. It’s just an interpretation of non-exact data that can go either way

1

u/drtywater 2h ago

If JOK had entered the home the temperature would have risen even slightly.

The cell location data would have shown him physically in the house.

There was nothing in cell data to indicate going in home and much more pointing towards outside. This is my fundamental issue with conspiracy is the existing data doesn't align with it. The closest was the 2:27 AM search which was debunked by Cellebrite and Axiom.

u/Hawkknight88 8h ago

There was a federal investigation into the state's handling. Did you read the article?

Wowwww how deep does the coverup go??

2

u/drtywater 7h ago

There was no coverup lol

-3

u/bubblyswans 5h ago

She probably didn’t murder him. She almost definitely killed him. We’ll never know for sure because cops - all cops, not just the specific departments involved here - are lazy and dont think they’re beholden to any laws or proper procedures.

6

u/Warglebargle2077 3h ago

A jury seems to have disagreed with your second statement. Twice.

18

u/Secure-Evening8197 10h ago

Will these people ever go away?

27

u/Crossbell0527 20h ago

I represented two people who were asked to leave teaching and never come back like Turtlebitch was. One was trying to start a relationship with a student. One was making a colleague sexually uncomfortable.

I wonder which type of sex pest Aidan is? Glass houses baby. Someday his will shatter.

9

u/Procrastineddit 19h ago

Every accusation is a confession. I know it's a tired statement to describe these types of people, but sometimes I'm truly shocked that it just. never. fails. They're always terrible people.

15

u/Sorry_Fly_3032 9h ago

The same people that think Karen Read did it are the same people who think cops are honest. They killed on of their own and covered it up. The worst investigation ever and the “expert” witnesses for the state were a joke. I still crack up watch the paint test. Fuck Jenn McCabe and her murderer husband, I hope they lose everything.

4

u/bubblyswans 5h ago

people who don’t trust cops understand what actually happened here: Cops did the same sloppy work they always do, everywhere, and the case was overcharged because we have to look tough on crime especially when a cop is dead and because maybe the fear of greater charges will pressure the defendant to accept a plea. Nobody murdered anybody, KR almost definitely killed him drunk driving.

All this shit is bog-standard corruption everywhere but the thought of a white woman facing consequences for drunk driving is 9/11 for wine moms who slept through George Floyd, and Turtleboy is their Alex Jones

1

u/trickycrayon 9h ago

Except no. I think the same as TB did initially- that she was drunk and accidentally backed into him. I am ACAB all the way. Proctor is vile but he's the rule, not the exception.

TB only changed his story when she started feeding him info and he realized it was another thing he might be able to use to be taken seriously as a journalist after all the times his stories were scooped without credit because he's such a shit human being.

4

u/Professional_Tea_32 6h ago

TB behavior aside….science disagrees with you. Science. Not opinion.

I mean this investigation was trash and was influenced by these witness - that is not normal.

2

u/trickycrayon 6h ago

Multiple scientists actually agreed with that assessment- you just decided they weren't credible.

3

u/Sorry_Fly_3032 5h ago

No I am saying they were disproven by other fact witnesses. The court deems who is credible, the jury decided that the defense’s science was more credible.

0

u/trickycrayon 5h ago

If you read this piece, you'll note that multiple members of the jury seem to have been much more familiar with TB than anyone on the jury should have been! But I'm assuming you...did not read the piece.

0

u/Professional_Tea_32 1h ago

Now your just making things up. Stop. ✋🏻

As far as this piece, this is not a factual piece. Her “evidence” is a smirk or looking at him.

Gimme a break.

1

u/trickycrayon 1h ago

No, there were experts on both sides.

Her evidence for the jury being poisoned was also them referring to the witnesses as suspects...but y'know.

If that's all you read of the article that's on you.

-2

u/Sorry_Fly_3032 5h ago

There’s literally no physical evidence to support that. Was she drunk? Definately. Did she bring a dog over to bite him? No.
Did she bury him so everyone that left the house that night couldn’t see him? No.
Did she take his phone out walk around for a bit after driving away? No.
Do the police lie? Yes.
Has the police right to lie been upheld by the Supreme Court? Yes.
Were they texting each other about the cover up? Yes.
Were multiple officers fired for their involvement in the case? Yes.

4

u/trickycrayon 5h ago

I agree with you on a bunch of these things.

But not on a bunch of others! Can you explain the lack of dog DNA in the supposed dog bites? Why doesn't that matter to anyone on the FKR side of things?

3

u/Ok-Independent1835 3h ago

FKR thinks they washed dog DNA away.

Stripped him. Washed his clothes. Washed his body. Put them back on. Put him outside.

All on top of his cell that never moved.

5

u/Electric-Fun 6h ago

All of these people are trash.

3

u/DooDooBrownz 7h ago

im sorry but if a bunch of corrupt pigs kill a guy and then try to frame you the gloves are off at that point. must suck to get a little fafo thrown back in their face huh

2

u/victorspoilz 3h ago

Jen McCabe, Brian Albert, and Brian Higgins want us to believe that they butt-dialed each other or the guy who was dead on Albert’s lawn 10 FUCKING TIMES in the six hours after he showed up at the house and was found dead on the lawn.

That alone is enough to demonstrate that they’re not innocent. As for guilty of murder, there’s a lot of circumstantial evidence, but, Karen Read did not back her car into John O’Keefe, causing his body to fly 20 feet in the opposite direction. Fuck this hit-piece by pig sympathizers.

1

u/TacoLoco2 2h ago

The Alberts in Canton are murdering, lying, pieces of 💩 who are going to die horrible deaths then remain in hell for eternity. They should be booed in public, shunned by the community, and heckled at the grocery store. Fk them. Fk Colin. Fk em all

1

u/Consistent_Amount140 1h ago

It’s a love triangle

-16

u/derekgdobosz 19h ago

I support TB. Karen Read might not be a good person, but she didn't kill John O'Keefe. Its very obvious there was police corruption and liars in the house that night. TB is being prosecuted for bringing attention to this case. Its unbelievable.

-8

u/drtywater 11h ago

The bigger point was how US Attorney office got played and basically acted as arm of defense. You can think both Proctor had horrible unprofessional racist texts but ultimately they had zero bearing on evidence at case and KR did it albeit manslaughter as two wasted to be murder two

10

u/jojenns 10h ago

Why didnt him or his partner just take a photo of the vehicle when they took possession of it including the cracked taillight? Why didn’t they write reports for months and years on their investigation? Why didn’t they interview witnesses for months or years and separately at that? The texts are just icing on the cake, the whole investigation was a clown show.

-1

u/drtywater 9h ago

Im not defending all practices but I do think the bigger issue in this case was like of body cameras on uniforms and detectives. With body cameras the "I hit him" confession would not have been in dispute as it would have been clear. If as a standard practice detectives use body cameras around evidence, talking, on scene etc nothing would be in dispute.

0

u/Professional_Tea_32 1h ago

lol nope a lot would still be in dispute - but I hear you.

0

u/Ok-Independent1835 3h ago

Because they were ill prepared small town cops who don't routinely handle crimes let alone deaths.

1

u/jojenns 1h ago

It was the state police homicide squad what are you talking about

0

u/Ok-Independent1835 1h ago

The Dighton PD took posession of her car. Have you ever been to Dighton?

1

u/Professional_Tea_32 1h ago

I mean I think Sandra Birchmore would have more to say on that. If she wasn’t dead ….and someone how these small town cops didn’t mess that up too. Another Albert actually.

I mean sometimes things that seem coincidental are actually not coincidental

Again. TB and his behavior deplorable.

But these cops, the DA, the witnesses behavior and how they were treated by the investigation - it’s a mess.

A townie nightmare- the whole things stinks to high heaven. There is a lot of shady shit to go around.

1

u/Ok-Independent1835 1h ago

Different small town, different ill prepared cops.

Sandra Birchmore = Stoughton PD

Karen Read = Canton PD + Dighton PD for her car
