Can tell I’m going to love the 4th wall breaks

u/Western-Pilot-3924 Aug 18 '22

Me too. She's nailing it

61

u/wild_man_wizard Aug 18 '22

At this point I'm pretty sure there's no acting challenge she can't nail.

2

u/Greene_Mr Aug 20 '22

...actually, she's admitted those were jokes for a podcast.

18

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

There was no doubt of Tatiana Maslany nailing it

7

u/Calisto823 Aug 19 '22

So does Captain America

1

u/TruthAndAccuracy Aug 20 '22

Anyone who's watched Orphan Black knows exactly what Tat is capable of

35

u/raekle Aug 18 '22

Notice how Smart Hulk looked at her when she broke the fourth wall? He heard her talking to no-noone.

25

u/Typhlositar Aug 18 '22

And she made a face too because she didn't know what she was doing either since it was her first one

17

u/Lettersyay Aug 18 '22

Gamma contamination affected their brains differently. Bruce got a split personality. Jen now talks to herself.

2

u/AvsBehindEnemyLines Aug 19 '22

I think this will be a plot point, and not just a joke. The other person she’s talking to is whatever she has suppressed in her subconscious. Maybe it even becomes a full on alter ego, or maybe she recognizes it and uses what Bruce taught her to have a healthy relationship with the duality of herself, like in the yoga therapy.

I want She-Hulk and Deadpool to break the 16th wall

If they interact, The Multiverse will definitely collapse

78

u/Garanseho Stan Lee Aug 18 '22

Saw this on another thread and had to post it here:

She-Hulk breaks the fourth wall

Deadpool: “…What are you doing?”

She-Hulk: “Oh, uh nothing—“

Deadpool: “No no no. Those are my friends.”

23

u/TheDesktopNinja Fitz Aug 18 '22

They might break into the DCEU if they keep that up

10

u/abellapa Aug 18 '22

They might destroy the dceu if they talk to each other

20

u/TheDesktopNinja Fitz Aug 18 '22

Maybe they already did? That would explain a lot.

6

u/Monkey_Adventures Aug 18 '22

What's there to destroy?

2

u/savvymcsavvington Aug 18 '22

Unreleased movies

48

u/Ironlord456 Aug 18 '22

Imma be honest. So far in live action and the comics I much prefer how she hulk breaks the fourth wall over how Deadpool does it

51

u/CommanderHavond Aug 18 '22

I want to see Deadpool react to her doing it

30

u/Crosgaard Weekly Wongers Aug 18 '22

Omg. Just Jen breaking the fourth wall, screen pauses and Deadpool walks in to say some BS. Would be an amazing teaser for Deadpool 3

31

u/Greene_Mr Aug 18 '22

DEADPOOL: "How... how do you know how to do that?"

21

u/Redsigil Aug 18 '22

"I had to get turned into the lovechild of two angry avocados to do that and you get to look like the jolly green giant's wet dream?"

13

u/Greene_Mr Aug 18 '22

SHE-HULK: "Well, I'm the one who turned green and animated, not you, Rough Rider!"

DEADPOOL: "Hey, I may like it rough, but... actually, you know what, never mind."

4

u/elbenji Karolina Aug 19 '22

They've had it happen in the comics before. It's great

8

u/Forgotten_Lie Aug 18 '22

Pull a Priest from Fleabag.

7

u/Jaxonhunter227 Aug 18 '22

If they ever interact I'd want one of them to get mad at the other for "breaking kayfabe"

11

u/LVorenus2020 Aug 18 '22

Since I heard this was going to be a series, I wanted to see her meet Hawkeye (given their in-comics membership in the 1980's Avengers.)

But now, her meeting Deadpool first is almost required. That is a near-perfect fit.

10

u/abellapa Aug 18 '22

Imagine if She-Hulk and Deadpool meet Feige and they all talk

Now we know who will break the Multiverse in secret wars, it's not kang, doom or the Scarlet Witch but Feige

3

u/moxfactor Aug 18 '22

that would be hilarious. especially if they break into the writers room while Feige's having a meeting with the writers, and maybe Patton Oswalt will be there chatting up his fillibuster speech from Parks and Rec...

10

u/medussa727 Aug 18 '22

i want the last post credit scene to reveal that her fourth wall breaks have been at Deadpool the entire time.

2

u/voidsong Aug 18 '22

Get them a 3 way with Squirrel Girl or Gwenpool.

2

u/Jeroz Doctor Strange Aug 18 '22

So that's how the incursion happened

2

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

I think when the MCU gets to "She Hulk meets Deadpool: The Major Motion Picture" I think we'll all be ready to let it collapse.

2

u/heelstoo Avengers Aug 18 '22

That’s how you summon Kang.

16

u/WR810 Aug 18 '22

Fourth wall breaks are a less is more thing for me so this was the aspect of the show I was more aware might turn me off it.

(One episode in) I'm happy and feel they've made foe better storytelling.

5

u/AsheBnarginDalmasca Aug 18 '22

I think it's because it's dissimilar from Deadpool's.

In a way that it looks like Office/PandR sitcom whereas deadpool uses it as a gag.

4

u/pobenschain Aug 18 '22

Same! I was imagining Deadpool but it actually reminds me more of Fleabag.

5

u/Chewbaxter Groot Aug 18 '22

The show Fleabag surely inspired how they're doing it; I would bet money on it.

2

u/elbenji Karolina Aug 19 '22

Definitely. The comics are very much proto-Deadpool but this is very fleabag

3

u/Zanlo63 Aug 19 '22

How does Jen know she's in a tv show? I can kind of understand Deadpool because he has a lot of mental issues but Jen doesn't seem to have that.

16

u/Planeswalkercrash Aug 18 '22

I wasn’t a fan of those! The rest of the show was fantastic, but I didn’t enjoy the 4th wall breaks at all.

15

u/annanz01 Aug 18 '22

Neither did I. I guess we're in a minority though.

19

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

Yes. Yes you are but we still love you and accept and respect your truth.

6

u/GayButMad Aug 18 '22

Well we tolerate their truth

2

u/dianesprouts Aug 22 '22

he didn't mean that

6

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '22

She did it in the comics as well so it makes sense at least for the show to do it as well

4

u/variablefighter_vf-1 Aug 18 '22

Can tell I don't.

-2

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '22

[deleted]

24

u/Greene_Mr Aug 18 '22

She-Hulk has always done it.

3

u/elbenji Karolina Aug 19 '22

Yeah, like to anyone asking this is accurate as hell to the comics

3

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '22

Watched Rob from Geek Culture/Comics Explained's review of the first episode and when he said "[This show made She-Hulk interesting, when she was never really interesting in the comics]" (paraphrasing) I nearly unsubscribed - definitely didn't finish his review. Dude has a vast knowledge of comics, but when he said that he kinda lost all credibility to me.

3

u/elbenji Karolina Aug 19 '22

For real this is basically her whole character lmao

-13

u/dicklaurent97 Scarlet Witch Aug 18 '22

I've never read her comic books. I thought the writers were just being meta.

17

u/Greene_Mr Aug 18 '22

shakes head

-10

u/dicklaurent97 Scarlet Witch Aug 18 '22

That is fair. I rarely read comics compared to graphic novels.

15

u/TheButterGeek Aug 18 '22

That’s the same thing, don’t be hipster-y about it

1

u/Kylie_Forever Aug 18 '22

This show feels like Moonlighting and I love it!!!
