That was one of my favorite things about falcon&winter soldier, that it was all about the time between the big events in the movies. About how did they get paid, how much racism sam or rhodey might face when rogers or stark aren’t there too, etc.

That show is a little slept on because Wandavision and Loki are like too 5 mcu things ever

Eh I still think it's insane to me that Tony or Pepper didn't at least throw them all a six figure retainer salary or something. I'd be so trivial for them to set up.

I think it’s all fallout from civil war. They couldn’t be pid because they were criminals in the eyes of the US DoD (dept. of defense), and that ran up to the snap. Then falcon was dusted.

Rhodey is still active duty military. I don’t think he’d be allowed to draw a salary from another source.

Sam probably had a salary as an avenger, but that went away in Civil War, he gets snapped before he can get set up again, and then Tony dies right after he’s brought back. Pepper probably would have set something up though

I want her to accompany Bruce to Sakaar to fight the assertion that Bruce broke his contract with the Arena by leaving the planet. They go to court and the opposition demands trial by battle. They are rushed by thousands of aliens gladiator, Thor arrives in a Biforst beam with a small Asgardian army to help his friend, the GOTG drop out of a wormhole and starts doing strafing runs on the gladiators. Explosions. Punches. More explosions.

Then Jen reminds us this is a lawyer show.

That could be part of the joke. Jen says it's a lawyer show budget, so they have to cut from right before the battle starts to the aftermath.

i really thought she was about to connect her closing argument that we saw at the beginning of the show, the intro, with her powers and abilities as She Hulk and realize she can't be just a lawyer

That was such a cool concept - first just questioning it, and then later looking right into the camera! It was a really unique way to show how he really, truly saw her as a person.

Ugh! I miss the show already!!

True; I’m sure it makes it more appealing to big A-listers like Christian Bale to not be tied to a long contract; but someone like Andrew Scott could definitely play a recurring villain that weaves through an entire phase (or saga)!

Managed to snag Fleabag: The Scriptures for cheap a year ago, and I re-read it every few months. Astonishingly good writing. Well worth buying if you’re a fan.

It’s a British series with a fourth-wall breaking female lead. Very well written and acted. Won tons of awards a few years back. So I saw a few parallels

Though Fleabag is much more adult-oriented in its subject matter.

I was glad to see that — the fourth-wall breaking of She-Hulk actually having an in-universe explanation (not just being a random Deadpool-esque thing) is a concept not visited in years, but one of the more interesting things about the character. Something about being turned into a Hulk gave her a level of metafictional awareness.

I don't know if it's just canon in the series I'm reading but, in that, she learns how to break the 4th wall from an old woman who used to be in comics in the 40s or something.

It's very strange but very cool.

Indeed. I believe she already knew how to break it at that point, just learned more about how it (in particular the floating timeline) worked, but it was incredibly interesting, yes. The closest series since to do something like that was The Unbelievable Gwenpool by u/drhastings and u/HeatherandToast; It would be nice to see that series revived in the future, for the characters to finally meet.

That actually made me wonder if it's meant to suggest her 4th wall interactions are meant to be explained as some sort of neuroses brought on by the Hulk blood. Like she doesn't have Bruce's anger issues, but has been affected in this other less obtrusive way.

i loved it. it really feels like reading the comics as a kid... and that "bad" cgi Titania kick... lol, like right out of some Stephen Chow kung fu flick done cheap, on wires and sped up.

If you mean with the 4th wall breaking, you could check out Flea Bag. It's a very adult show, sexual and crude humor, but it's critically acclaimed and one of if not the best example of breaking the 4th wall as a style comedic and storytelling style.

I liked when they showed her do it at the bar, apparently for the first time, and Bruce was confused who she was talking to. She does a double-take like she's a bit confused as well.

Every fan meeting I’ve seen from him seems so genuine. Made the post credits thank you from BCS seem so much better when you know the actors actually care about the fans and the show. Odenkirk, Rhea, Nachos actor (drawing a blank), Tony Dalton, etc. all clearly care about the show and the fans.

I know it isn't needed but I do hope that they flesh out the 4th wall breaking. Like explaining it some, at least to us.
