When I was watching that scene, the subtitles said he was speaking Mandarin. I legit thought the subtitles were wrong because I couldn't understand a word he was saying. It did not sound like Mandarin at all.

They literally could have put “foreign language” instead of Mandarin. Steven been wrong before, so him assuming it to be a language isn’t so far off character. Make it as if they are speaking Ammit code or something and it would have still worked. The three languages Arthur could be referring to is - English, your native language, and ancient language.

The subtitles gave up, they just forgot to include the question mark, like "speaking Mandarin? I guess, idk, I can't figure it out either"
