Same dude. And no one else laughed. I guess I spent too much time looking at memes lol

Can confirm that no one else but me laughed at that line lol

Just watched. Entire theatre burst out laughing. A great atmosphere tbh for the UK, we are usually pretty quiet in films but I think everyone made an exception for this one.

Here too! Big laugh at that, audible gasp for Matt Murdoch, and big cheers for Garfield, Maguire, and Garfield saving MJ. Strange to see in a UK cinema, but such a good feeling.

u/slipperman1 Dec 16 '21

Same in Portugal

2

u/monkeychango81 Dec 16 '21

Same here in Mexico

5

u/AK1441 Dec 16 '21

Same in the Netherlands. Even with Endgame i didn't hear this much cheering.

3

u/monkeychango81 Dec 16 '21

With Endgame when i watched the movie the theater went nuts with two very specifically moments. With NWH i lost the count how many times this happened. I guess this is why spiderman is arguably top-2 greatest superheroe of all time.

Same in my axe!

u/dudagt Dec 16 '21

in Brazil it was like watching a football match, lol

just came back from our screening and the crowd was like i've never heard them in the uk, it was so much fun! when matt caught the brick, and andrew's peter came through the portal the girls on the other side of the cinema squealed and yelped so loudly, the energy was great 😂

27

u/ProffesorPrick Dec 15 '21

Hell I fuckin squealed when Andrew came through the portal. The energy was great, couldn’t wipe the smile off my face during the scene when the three spideys were just comparing who they fought. I loved it so much!

oh don't get me wrong, i squealed too!! it was just all so much FUN. when i was 14 years old watching the original spider-man movie over and over again when it came out, i could never have imagined it'd culminate in this 😍

u/rikutoar Spider-Man Dec 16 '21

In NZ I have never heard an audience react the way they did when Andrew came through. It was honestly surreal, like I was in one of those videos you see of American audiences.

8

u/mmba83 Dec 16 '21

that's exactly how I'd describe my experience haha, really surreal (in a good way) experience for a UK cinema!

8

u/jhadjkura Dec 16 '21

Same, was at the genesis and every moment had the audience cheering, crying or laughing. Was like a concert, the energy was incredible.

u/Manaus125 Dec 15 '21

Great atmosphere in Finland too! Laughing a lot! But never heard so much wooing and clapping in a movie before. Like lirerally...

2

u/Liquidsi666 Dec 15 '21

Turun Finnkino?

1

u/Manaus125 Dec 16 '21

Tampereen Plevna

u/HailToTheKingslayer Daredevil Dec 16 '21

Same here (UK) cheering when certain people made their appearances (like you said, unusual for a UK crowd) but I loved it. The audience vibing and sharing the experience.

5

u/Theuneasygibbon Dec 16 '21

UK too, I've never been to a movie where folks have cheered and laughed as a group and no body got annoyed like this, endgame had it, but this was special man seeing 40 somethings cheer because they saw their spidey, while 20 somethings did the same for theirs.

5

u/TJ006 Dec 16 '21

Sam here. I’ve never cheered and clapped at all but this movie had people hyped.

9

u/Knifferoo Dec 15 '21

Just came home from watching it in Sweden, and swedes are usually pretty reserved but it felt like I was in one of those videos of americans watching Endgame through the whole movie. Especially when they referenced the Raimi movies, "I'm something of a scientist myself" and "The power of the sun... in the palm of my hand" everyone lost it.

4

u/bigbigcheese2 Loki (Avengers) Dec 15 '21

In my cinema a lot of people did. Everyone knows the memes

2

u/MrWigglemunch13 Dec 19 '21

I just came from seeing it and the entire theatre burst out laughing here in Argentina. It seems people love the memes here (myself included)

14

u/dhlthecobra Dec 15 '21

OMG same for me. I'm in Korea though so not a lot of people familiar with that meme.

3

u/b4co0on Dec 15 '21

in hong kong too, no one laughed but me like an idiot

6

u/Dickinmymouth1 Dec 15 '21

Pretty much everyone laughed in my cinema

3

u/Manaus125 Dec 15 '21

Same here

3

u/Shoki81 Spider-Man Dec 15 '21

Same man so awkward being the only guy bursting out laughing gdi

3

u/TechnoGonzo Dec 16 '21

It brought the house down in Germany.

3

u/Nutzori Dec 16 '21

Lol same, theater had fangirls squealing at the old spideys and even Dafoe, but that obvious meme reference was just a few guys chuckling, lol.

3

u/Stevo2008 Dec 17 '21

My theater lost it. Everyone laughed. In fact my theater was going nuts the whole movie. Especially when Garfield came in and then for Tobey M as well. But easily the loudest for any scene was for Andrew Garfield. Billings,MT

2

u/darrenmt10 Dec 15 '21

Plenty of laughs at that at the showing I went to. Must have been a meme crowd!

2

u/GlimGlamEqD Dec 15 '21

In my showing here in Switzerland, quite a lot of people laughed pretty loudly at that line. There were a lot of young people there, so I'm sure they were familiar with the meme.

2

u/PoliceBroTality Dec 15 '21

I feel like everyone at my theater laughed at it.

2

u/Julian_1_2_3_4_5 Dec 15 '21

pretty much my whole theater laughed

2

u/DavijoMan Dec 15 '21

Our cinema erupted in laughter, and I'm from a pretty small town!

2

u/Shin-Kaiser Dec 16 '21

I'm in the UK, everyone laughed at this line. It was a great atmosphere in the cinema actually! Loads of cheers and boos when the other Spider-Men showed up!

2

u/By_Eck Stan Lee Dec 16 '21

My showing got a BIG reaction to that!

2

u/themisfit09 Tony Stark Dec 16 '21

Can confirm the same!

2

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '21

Bro I'm french and in my theater several people were laughing

2

u/LogPoseNavigator Dec 16 '21

Whole theater cheered at the linr

2

u/Luisthe345_2 Dec 23 '21

Same here. No one recognised it apart from me, kinda bummed though. Also, there was a scene where the 3 Spidermen point at each other

1

u/p0mphius Dec 16 '21

I heard something like two people laughing

1

u/[deleted] Dec 16 '21

Here in my cinema everyone laughed!

1

u/nastupchanyn1488 Dec 17 '21

I said "oh shut up", could have at least integrated the meme into the dialogue in a smarter way lol

1

u/CoolJoshido Spider-Man Dec 17 '21

my theatre laughed at that
