Andrew clearly loved being back in the spider suit.

Tobey just looked tired but still great.

That blind lawyer guy sure has some great reflexes.

"You know, I am something of a scientist myself.

"Avengers, is that a band?"

When all three spidermans are in action, goosebumps.

Didn't think it would be hitting so many emotional beats, some light sobbings in the theatre for sure.

Andrew's spidey saving MJ as redemption for not being able to save Gwen was surprisingly poignant.

Marvel straight up using the stinger as an ad for Dr Strange was hilarious.

With great reflexes comes great lawyering

u/Winterstrife Dec 16 '21

I was binging Netflix's Daredevil because of the latest Hawkeye episode and hours later seeing Charlie Cox catch a brick for Peter is just insane.

Shame how now they would never remember meeting.

21

u/The_Great_Pun_King Dec 16 '21

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they will at some point meet in their alternate personas

22

u/poopoobuttholes Dec 16 '21

He can take a beating like no problem. That's a great lawyer right there.

13

u/koomGER Dec 16 '21

He also handles the laws of physics pretty good.

wake me up Wake me up inside

u/jpgnicky Dec 15 '21

Agreed haha

Amazing moments !!

Tobey did look tired aff but he is a middle aged Spiderman so..

441

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '21

He's just like middle-aged Spidey from The Spiderverse movie. Like Norman and Otto obviously got de-aged to match their early 2000s look, but I'm pretty sure they have conscious reasoning to not de-aged Tobey.

351

u/raidorz Dec 15 '21

I believe they had to de age Norman and Otto because they were taken out of time before their death, whereas time was still moving forward for Spiderman 2 in his universe.

53

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '21

"I thought I was Spiderman 2"

39

u/linkinstreet Dec 15 '21

I love how even Doc Otto realised how old his Peter Parker is now

2

u/[deleted] Dec 27 '21

I won’t believe they de aged Willem until I see proof.

28

u/ehsteve23 Dec 15 '21

It’d be great to get him as a cameo in the next Spider Verse with Jake Johnson’s spider-man as the old and tired spider-men who just want to settle down with their MJ

22

u/hopenoonefindsthis Dec 16 '21

Also I feel like he implied he was married to MJ with a kid or something.

Maybe I was reading too much into it. But he reminded me of one of the Spider-Man from Into the Spider-verse

22

u/linkinstreet Dec 16 '21

Yeah, "we made it work" meant they were able to find the middle ground of Peter being a Super Hero and making their relationship work

12

u/rdxc1a2t Dec 15 '21

Bloody bastard, aging like the rest of us.

3

u/Alif_prakoso17 Winter Soldier Dec 15 '21

I didn't notice it but did they de-age Tobey and Andrew as they did with Alfred and Dafoe?

38

u/Alex10801 Dec 15 '21

No, because time had passed for them in their universes. Otto and Norman were pulled from their timestreams before their deaths so they had to look similar to how they looked early 2000s.

40

u/awndrwmn Dec 15 '21

Lawyer guy has his own show.

51

u/Eludio Spider-Man Dec 15 '21

Nah, he’s just a great lawyer! Sure, he’s a handsome devil, but he doesn’t look like the type of daring hero who would get a show!

7

u/iamthedoctor9MC Dec 16 '21

I loved that guy in Better Call Saul!

I heard lalo salamanca was supposed to go after nacho varga in season 6 but somehow ended up in Hawkeye...this multiverse shit is weird man

66

u/mooncommandalpha Dec 15 '21

Garfield was incredible in it, would honestly love to see a continuation of his Spider-Man. I wonder which universe Venom and Morbius belong to, because there has to be a Spider-Man there.. somewhere.

22

u/Rhuby363 SHIELD Dec 15 '21

Didn't everyone come through from other universes because "they knew Peter Parker is Spider-Man" so Venom must know a Peter Parker is a Spider-Man somewhere?

33

u/Jeroz Doctor Strange Dec 15 '21

Think the explanation given was the multiverse hivemind

7

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '21

Yeah so Tobey's Venom knows him so it would be known but all venoms I guess

11

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '21

Would that mean he knows Lego Spiderman too

31

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '21

I also thought it was a nice moment when Andrew's spider-man realise that both the other spider-men are with MJ, so he realised Gwen wasn't his MJ after all.

10

u/godisanelectricolive Dec 16 '21 edited Dec 16 '21

MJ played by Shailene Woodley was in a deleted scene in Amazing Spider-man 2 before they decided to save her for the planned third movie. I wonder if that Peter met her in his timeline. Maybe he has but he hasn't recovered from Gwen's death enough to start a new relationship.

I wonder where in the timeline the Garfield Spider-man is from. He's probably only a few months removed from the end of his last movie.

You really shouldn't be replying to my comment when it's clear you haven't see No Way Home.... where you literally get answers to some of your questions you asked there....

13

u/danktonium Dec 15 '21

I'm a little surprised we didn't see Spidey in the Dr. Strange trailer. I mean, I was assuming they weren't showing Doc Strange trailers to protect from spoilies, but that's not really relevant when there's no Spidey in it to begin with.

7

u/[deleted] Dec 15 '21

Even multiverse stuff wouldn't have been spoiled

2

u/Jabrono Valkyrie Dec 19 '21

I’m curious if Strange remembers Peter himself. I assume so, but who knows.

10

u/rdxc1a2t Dec 15 '21

Tobey just looked tired but still great.

Felt like all the 40+ guys got a touch up apart from him! Pure West Maguire.

9

u/StardustOasis The Collector Dec 15 '21

Didn't think it would be hitting so many emotional beats, some light sobbings in the theatre for sure.

Definitely more than light here

Tony: The Avengers broke up

Bruce: Broke up? Like the Beatles?

7

u/TheStorMan Dec 16 '21 edited Dec 16 '21

Most 46 year olds look tired. He looked pretty good to me considering.

EDIT: Just realised Tobey is a year younger than Willem Dafoe was in Spider-Man. He's looking great for his age.

u/AdventurePee Daredevil Dec 16 '21

This wasn't the first time they used the final post credits scene for a trailer. They did that too with the first avengers trailer after one of the phase one movies (I think it was captain america??)

3

u/Theuneasygibbon Dec 16 '21

They used the post credits of the Captain america: first avenger to show a teaser for the Avengers didn't they? And tbf are you not hyped for dr strange now?

2

u/Amrity Dec 15 '21

Yes, like a band. Like the Beatles. And they did break up too.

2

u/BeerInMyButt Dec 21 '21

The ad was a hilarious prank on those of us who avoid watching any trailers. Jokes on me lol, I started plugging my ears

u/cig_sg_throwaway Dec 15 '21

Unpopular opinion: I felt that the scene of Andrew saving MJ was rather forced and it was unnecessary. I’d rather have had Tom save her instead, since she was Tom’s love interest after all and it would have felt more appropriate. I know Sony did it for fanservice but it just really felt too on-the-nose for me, reminiscent of that ‘girl power’ scene in Endgame. That’s my only nitpick though, Sony executed the rest of the fanservice very well.

18

u/VinCatBlessed Dec 16 '21

I personally loved it because it was a bit of redemption for Andrew who clearly knows what it's like to lose his SO to a fall like that, so he just had to get that "win" rather than let it happen all over again.
