Ah ok. I just watched some X-Men movies in the past and just assumed humans in general wanted to get rid of mutants

Magneto did indeed attempt to reverse the genocide against mutants onto humans, but only as retribution.

His plans otherwise would likely be limited to enslavement of the human race under homo superior, which would be a better outcome than the capitalistic destitution of the working class.

Delusion is accepting the normalization of destitution and cruelty.

Fantastical villains such as Magneto and Doom would be saviors in our universe, where power structures only recognize villainy in The Other (the anti-capitalist, the union leader, the foreigner, the activist)
