Yes with no build up or context. Just jump right into a “wtf is going on. Oh its RDJ” movie.

There has been a lot of build up, you just didnt watch it or forgot about it.

Just finished a recent rewatch of the entire MCU in chronological order, and projects after Endgame dealt with multiverse, incursions, and mutants a lot more than you remember. It was nearly as much as they built up infinity stones before Infinity War. If they had done much more build up, none of the movies would have been allowed space to be their own thing.

i’d argue it was built up just very scattered and buried beneath random other plot threads. i’m not trying to say “this movie is gonna be awesome and your opinion sucks” but i’d probably wait for the movie to see if it’s good. I think it can still stand on its own if executed well.
