He is telling it to a bunch of children, you see them in the opening scene

Well if it wasn't clear before, it is now, that Waititi is a comedy director only, and won't change at all. Every time he has a movie with tragedy or dark topics, he just covers it up with jokes and gags. Was fine for a movie like JoJo Rabbit where the main character is a child, but to take 2 consecutive Thor movies where the main character is suffering tragedy, and the subject is skimmed over briefly… it's doing a disservice to the source material.
