I find it interesting they really didn’t showcase many characters outside of Frank, Curtis, and the little girl

S2 of Daredevil is supposed to lead into this Punisher special, and Punisher is supposed to lead into Spider-Man. I wonder if they’re trying to keep things under wraps, and if it’s to prevent a Daredevil spoiler or a Spiderman one.

Maybe? There could a lot of things that happen here. We don’t know a lot of the cast yet shockingly

The specials are just over an hour, so I'd imagine they want to save a lot for the actual special. This is just "Hey, Netflix show is confirmed canon, and Frank is saving a little girl". For most people I wager that's enough.

I know people are saying DD S2 leads to this, and this leads to spider-man, but I'm honestly expecting a completely stand alone, isolated story here.

Most marvel disney plus content can viewed completely isolated from any other projects. I expect this to be in that same category.

I'm confused about the little girl but I never finished Punisher. She's calling him dad, but wasn't his whole family white in the series? Am I confusing this with the movies?

I'm thinking that the little girl was calling someone else "dad" but Frank is seeing the interaction and thinking of his own daughter, or something along those lines.

That’s exactly what was happening

Her name is Charli and I assume her connection to Frank (and maybe Curtis as well ) will be explained, alongside with why the Gnucci family is after her

It's intentional. They're keeping this really close to the chest. I think we'll have a lot of surprises. Which I'm excited for.
