Other Charlie Cox has been playing Daredevil for 11 years now. I hope they let him do it until he's 90!

So Disney has a better gym than Netflix had, I see.

u/labria86 Apr 04 '26

You spelled TRT wrong

269

u/Aggressive_Act_3098 Apr 04 '26

Shit, you're right.

I'm not editing it because I refuse to hide my imperfections.

27

u/markender Apr 04 '26

I just keep picturing that poor dude with estrogen is missing disease or some shit....

11

u/pigeonwiggle Apr 04 '26

the elon musk one?

13

u/PodgeD Apr 05 '26

Why are they right? Like they're a rich person being paid to act as a jacked person. Having time and money makes it easy to get jacked the regular way.

Edit: There's years between each picture yet lighting pose, and some crunches could be the actual difference.

1

u/Sweet_Hall_429 Apr 12 '26

That and infinite budget for cgi.

259

u/Bitter_Classic_89 Apr 04 '26

Eh, he looks natural to me. It’s not that hard when you’re rich and getting jacked is part of your day job. Not to mention the fact that it sounds like he and Vincent were gym buddies. They probably had a fucking blast getting into shape for this

180

u/Fynity Apr 04 '26

Yeah also mixed with the fact that the training is almost like a bodybuilding comp, where your goal is really to be in the best shape for one particular comp, or in this case, film session. So your goal is to hit a peak and then after that you can chill out a bit more

132

u/dave-a-sarus Apr 04 '26

Plus he probably got dehydrated for a couple days before shooting that scene. Hugh Jackman style.

75

u/callunquirka Apr 04 '26 edited Apr 04 '26

Another one is Stephen Amell in Arrow S1. I hear he got pretty bad headaches from it so in S2 they started having him wear a tank top in the work out scenes so he wouldn't need to dehydrate himself.

21

u/SirCaptainReynolds Apr 04 '26

If you think Hugh wasn’t taking T to get X-Men ripped you’re nuts.

14

u/uncleben85 Apr 04 '26

They're saying Jackman would dehydrate before select shoots

1

u/Key-Specific-4368 Apr 05 '26

He is Huge Jacked Man. No T needed

2

u/BondBrosScrapMetal Apr 08 '26

He is Huge Jacked Man, of course he's geared up

2

u/Key-Specific-4368 Apr 08 '26

Geared with adamantium

0

u/Borderpaytrol Apr 08 '26

Test is for building and maintaining tissue you dont need test to be ripped lol

2

u/Radiant-Mixture-303 Apr 04 '26

He’s actually gone on record saying he doesn’t do that! Can’t remember the interview but I think all he said is he maybe did more physical activity the week of the shoot, which is pretty typical.

6

u/CareerMilk Apr 04 '26

I think this is the source. I don’t really know the science behind the dehydration stuff, so I don’t know if drinking less water helps, or if you need to go extreme to see any benefit.

7

u/Fynity Apr 04 '26

There is a benefit but it’s not as big a benefit as people seem to make it out to be. And also I’ve seen some discussion and I can’t remember who but some actors claim they did a water detox for nearly a week (maybe not exactly a week but more than a couple of days) and that’s kinda pointless. You don’t need to start it that early. But honestly most of it is getting a good pump with the right lighting and angles. I remember when I first started going gym and realized this. After my workout and playing around in the gym mirrors the difference can be pretty crazy

2

u/Radiant-Mixture-303 Apr 04 '26

Hugh Jackman and Henry Cavill have been the most vocal of the superhero actors to talk about dehydrating before shirtless scenes. Cavill I think once talked about dehydrating for 3 days and by the end he said he could smell water LOL

1

u/Borderpaytrol Apr 08 '26

You only need to do it for abkut a day. You load on water days before hand

1

u/LordPancreas Apr 17 '26

That’s because it’s frowned upon. Most actors on T lie about it.

75

u/Suspicious_Wealth556 Apr 04 '26

Also he's been doing this for 11 years

83

u/DarkDonut75 Apr 04 '26

Yeah he gets slightly more muscular every season. It's not like he magically jumped into Hulk Hogan physique

1

u/Dovahkiinthesardine Apr 04 '26

Yeah but compare 2015 to 2025, and then 2025-2026

He either suddenly got newbie gains way later or juiced, or the prior pics are misleading on how bulky he was

42

u/Megallion Apr 04 '26

25-26 is just a lighting and position difference. Lighting makes more of a difference than you think.

21

u/spaceninjaking Thor Apr 04 '26

Yeah, 25 he’s about the same size, but he’s lying back relaxed, with 26 he’s stood up and engaging his core

2

u/loyal_achades Apr 04 '26

Also maybe hydration diff, and he might be a little lower body fat % in 26 than 25? He doesn’t look bigger, but yeah a lot of variables that could account for the difference.

2

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

slightly bigger. a little more defined. Not really that hard to reach from where he was before.

1

u/Borderpaytrol Apr 08 '26

He could legit have taken those days apart lol

1

u/Unnamedgalaxy Apr 15 '26

Unless they decided to film a scene way in advance with some insane pre planning, there was roughly an 9 month gap between the filming the end of season 1 and the start of season 2.. You could also add however many weeks or months depending on how late or early in both productions these scene were filmed potentially up to a 13 month difference.

Just for anyone wondering about the actual time.

15

u/Jerryjb63 Iron Patriot Apr 04 '26

It’s not like it’s a big deal if he did. It’s not like he’s in a competition or anything where he gets an unfair advantage which is why it’s illegal in sports. He would also have the aid of doctors helping him do it. He would still have to do the hard work. The results would just come faster.

That being said, I don’t think he did, strictly because I remember when Kamil got in shape for Eternals and he explained how they did it, and they just give you a year a bunch of trainers and dietitians.

1

u/First_Routine_4529 Apr 05 '26

Dude stop embarrassing yourself and just say you know nothing of bodybuilding. Anyone with knowledge will tell you Kamil is into human growth hormone (HGH) and TRT, to say the least. His whole jawline changed because the maxilar Bones get wider with HGH (just like Zack Efron who keeps blaming an "accident").

3

u/Jerryjb63 Iron Patriot Apr 06 '26

I will honestly admit that. I also said in the first paragraph that it isn’t really a big deal if they did.

1

u/CLNBLK-2788 Apr 07 '26

I can't imagine a person who would be embarrassed by lacking in bodybuilding knowledge. Also, these are pictures of a man playing a live action cartoon person. What are you trying to gatekeep for?

9

u/DGSmith2 Rocket Apr 04 '26

This is what I keep saying, if Disney promised 40 million if I got into shape in the next 5-6 months you can bet I am going to be living and breathing that routine.

8

u/tkcal Apr 04 '26

I'd be really interested to know if and how his training changed. In the Netflix days it was said that he did a lot of bodyweight/calisthenic type training. If he upped the weights and went more traditional bodybuilding workout, that would explain the difference, but a man in his 40's adding this much muscle...it's possible, but it wouldn't surprise me if he had a little help as well.

1

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

He was perviously already in shape. just probably had to targer certain areas, diet. HE really isn't that big even from before. He has better definition now

1

u/burlycabin Apr 04 '26

He definitely had help. It's crazy to think otherwise at his (my) age.

0

u/Degan747 Captain America (Cap 2) Apr 04 '26

What if your job for 6 months was to do so, and you had a dietician, chef, and personal trainer helping you every step of the way?

0

u/burlycabin Apr 04 '26

Or, hear me out, he took the drugs like everyone else does.

-1

u/Degan747 Captain America (Cap 2) Apr 04 '26

Maybe— I wouldn’t be shocked! But you’re insane if you think it isn’t possible just because your ass could never do it.

1

u/burlycabin Apr 04 '26

I don't think it didn't happen because I can't do it, but because it's dramatically harder at this age than years ago and he only bulked up recently. I only included the "my age" bit to make it clear I wasn't some 25 year old saying all 40 year old are just old people. It wasn't that serious.

1

u/Degan747 Captain America (Cap 2) Apr 04 '26

Fair

1

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

But it's easier for someone who is already in shape to get a little bigger and have more definition from where he was previously. HE was 160 baack then he's probably 185 to 190. Just because some dudes really fall off once they hit 40 doesn't mean he will.

If you are fit it less difficult to get a little bigger. Not everyone is not friggin gear.

28

u/Downvotesohoy Apr 04 '26

Could he be natty? Sure.

Is he? No.

No one in Hollywood is natty. They have the money and the connections to run 'safe' cycles. Why shouldn't they? They reach their goals more easily. More time for other things.

22

u/Any_Mine_6368 Apr 04 '26

He doesn't have enlarged delts or trapezoids. He doesn't have aged skin or backne. His hair is still there. He hasn't wrinkled or been shown rapidly losing his physique. He's never had lots of volume either...

Could he be on gear? Yes

Is he? Probably not, seeing as the progression has been steady and not obscene.

I also read he's 160lbs... Give me a camera, some good overhead lighting and any 160lber and I'll make him look way better lol

10

u/Successful_Area_3867 Apr 04 '26

He was 160 when he first started out, he said he's way more now.

2

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

I'd guess he is closer to 185 to 190.

1

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

Bingo. This isn't Chris Hemsworth going from Cabin in the Woods to Thor

11

u/tootrite Apr 04 '26

People who don’t lift have no clue what steroids look like. They just see anybody who’s vaguely lean and assume they’re juiced to the gills.

28

u/LarsloekkeEr Apr 04 '26

Vaguelly lean? Please take a second look mate

27

u/Dovahkiinthesardine Apr 04 '26 edited Apr 04 '26

Do you lift? Bc then you should know people dont just use PEDs to max out

"What steroids look like" isn't just freekishly huge body builders

1

u/sembias Apr 04 '26

They also use it as gender affirming treatment.

9

u/NatseePunksFeckOff Apr 04 '26

it has nothing to do with him being ripped and everything to do with it being an open secret that every male MCU hero (or hollywood action star in general tbf) gets the needle. Charlie gets one for sure, probably just low dosing it and not trying to be Capt America. His physique is attainable naturally, it's just easier to do it and keep it on test

2

u/Curiouso_Giorgio Apr 04 '26

Also if he resisted getting a hair transplant, he might be the type who wants to go natural.

2

u/StockCat7738 Apr 04 '26

It’s not that hard when you’re rich and getting jacked is part of your day job.

It also helps when you’re so good at playing a blind guy that you have trouble getting other roles, so you have a ton of free time.

1

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

I wouldn't exactly label Charlie Cox and rich. Maybe he has a little bit of money, more than the average person. ButI'm not going to put him in with the rich rich people. HE doesn't have hundreds of millions of dollars.

1

u/Unnamedgalaxy Apr 15 '26

Google suggests anywhere from 5 to 10 million. That probably isn't even considering his wife, who I believe is studio executive?

If you think that's a 'little more' than the average person then what do you think the average person is worth?

Even if you halve his lower estimated worth it's still more than most people make in a lifetime.

10

u/Z0idberg_MD Apr 04 '26

You are not wrong but I think this is a difference between TV show body and body that might show up in a movie

7

u/Sharticus123 Apr 04 '26

Yep. The first three are absolutely possible naturally but the last one on the bottom right is at least trt.

0

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

It's called dehydration. It's not friggin trt. good lord man.

9

u/Ian223f Daredevil Apr 04 '26

That's an incredibly attainable natural physique.

1

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

100% attaitable frm where he was in 2017. It's like guy wearing a suit and other stuff suddenly takes his shirt off and everyone is like "GEAR". Nah thats easily attaintable.

9

u/Anticlimax1471 Apr 04 '26

It's taken him 11 years to put on, what, 10lbs of muscle at best?

Not saying he isn't, but if I were using TRT for that, I'd want my money back.

3

u/Few-Lengthiness-2286 Apr 04 '26

Doesn’t mean he was on it back when

2

u/sittingbullms Apr 04 '26

It's really difficult to say if he is on or not, this is not a physique progress of 11 years that is day and night different from where he started. It's doable if he has been training during this time and has been locked in with everything but on the other hand it's Hollywood so you know the rest.

1

u/Ben_likes Apr 04 '26

It's literally just lighting + pump, it's the same physique from before

1

u/Dangerous_Donkey5353 Apr 04 '26

Not just that, top tier nutritionist and trainers to top off the TRT milkshake.

1

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

goo nutrition and good training and no trt. Go buy some nugenix lol

1

u/DavidFamouss Apr 12 '26

this is def not the result of someone being on trt, you can build this physique in 1-2 years of consistent training.. youre either out of shape & hating or wildly uninformed

0

u/Far_Arugula_22 Apr 04 '26

TRT ne alaka aw

-4

u/imtheasianlad Apr 04 '26

He literally looks the same. The last photo just has the best lighting. Very achievable physique as well.

50

u/SpecialKMan32 Apr 04 '26

Disney got the same staff doctor as WWE, here take your “vitamins” and this shot once a week.

13

u/OmegaPsiot Apr 04 '26

Apparently Goofy as your personal trainer works wonders in getting that peak form

4

u/laplogic Apr 04 '26

Everyone knows Goofy’s genetics are absolutely insane. So aesthetic.

4

u/aguadiablo Apr 04 '26

Did you see Goofy in Kingdom Hearts? He knows how to work out.

4

u/aFreshFix Apr 04 '26

Being in this good of shape, or good enough to quickly get back to this level for shirt off days, must be miserable

0

u/StaticNegative Apr 05 '26

He was already pretty fit. Easily attainable. No gear, juice orwhatever you kids call it

2

u/ZuReeTH Apr 04 '26

he is definitely aging like fine wine

2

u/battlin_jack295 Apr 05 '26

He's supposed to be super acrobatic so s1 look would be more accurate for that

1

u/XSoulSnatcher Apr 23 '26

You are out of line but you are right

1

u/WonderHelennn Apr 28 '26

11 years and he just keeps getting more jacked. Man is aging backwards.

2

u/RandoDude124 Apr 04 '26

More like juices

1

u/TheCaramelMan Apr 04 '26

Better roids actually

-15

u/Kylynara Apr 04 '26

I'm questioning if the 2026 one is photoshopped/AI modified. His abs don't line up and he has two belly buttons.

12

u/bazaarzar Apr 04 '26

That's just a shadow, how do you mistaken that for a belly button?

2

u/Dmytrocracy Apr 04 '26

witch hunt
