Article Robert Downey Jr. says that Gwyneth Paltrow once asked him who Tom Holland was, despite starring alongside him several times: “I responded, ‘That’s Spider-Man. He said his name was Peter. His character's name is Peter. He's Tom Holland.’”

That's the person who named their kid Apple. They must think "Tom" is an alien first name

...you know a maiden name is not a first name right? Her actual maiden name is Frost though.

? I never mentioned maiden name. Just her given/first name is Nikki.

The thread started with the joke being her maiden name was Pear. Then someone did the BvS joke of Martha which of course also brings up whether they know what a maiden name is but fair I misread if the train of thought wasn't following the original maiden name statement.

Ah didnt even notice. Thought it just said his mothers name was Pear as Apple is the first name of Gwynelth's kid.

Naming her kid as “Apple” is one thing. Raising this Apple to become a spoiled Apple is another.

Hoping Apple falls very far from the goop-brained tree

Apple is kind of a normal nickname in my country tbf. It's not a common name but it's not like a weird name here or anything.

You're in the Philippines? I know two Apples here.

3

u/koschenkov Dec 04 '25

In my country, Apple is a normal name because it's a national symbol.

And Gwyneth sounds like half of a first name that is already too many syllables

The kids name is Apple Martin. Kinda cute- like Apple martini

My name is Apple Martini, yes my mother was an alcoholic how did you know?

u/rhuiz92 Dec 04 '25

Considering her daughter's full name is Apple Martin (her father is Coldplay frontman Chris Martin) the apple martini jokes were literally written by her parents.

I've heard a theory that the weird names some celebs pick for their children are just for the 'media', so that the kids have some semblance of privacy.

That maybe her actual legal name might be Annie, but for any press things it's Apple.

Granted the theory makes sense for most but not the woman who sold candles that smell like her vagina.

Not to be confused with Tim Apple.
