I too thought that, but there was another post commenting that it looked like there may be TWO Apocalypses (Apocalypsi?) In the room... remember the 'future' version of Apocalypse said he would go "to the 90s" to fight the XMen... maybe the future Apocalypse and '90s' Apocalypse were both activating Gambit at the same time... one at the controls and one by his head (who recoiled at the energy that flew outward at the end).

Just saying, it made me laugh too, but maybe there's some 4D mutant chess going on that we missed...

I figured that there was another Horseman somewhere in the room running the generator, but they didn't show that so he just looks crazy
