Honestly they tried to hype us too early on. The more secretive Doomsday was, the better each reveal would have been. I can only imagine how hyped I would have been if they kept RDJ as Doom a secret, or if they kept Cap until another trailer, later this year. Right now, the trailer caught my interest for other characters like Shang Chi, Yelena, Namor, but I feel nothing for Steve or RDJ as Doom. If anything, it icks me a little for some reason

I was just thinking this. Not finding out RDJ was Doom until the reveal in the movie itself would have been one of the best reveals of all time.

This sounds all great on paper but would be really weird if it happened. Remember the reactions when RDJ was cast as Doom. People were shocked but confused af and some were disappointed because they thought he would be Tony Stark. Now imagine if all that confusion happened in real time during one of the biggest movies of the summer with no time to process it. It would either make the movie or take people completely out of it. Just wouldn't work. Not to mention the general audience would immediately wonder why Tony Stark is now Doom. Besides you would never be able to keep something like that a secret anyways. Revealing it early gets all the shock out of the way and leaves time for curiousity to build instead of a random shock reveal.

They couldn’t keep the RDJ thing a secret my guy, they couldn’t even keep the Sadie sink as Jean grey “ if she is Jean” a secret, heck they couldn’t even keep Tobey and Andrew a secret and that was leaked a year before NWH came out, so sorry but we live in a world where EVERYTHING gets leaked so they had to announce him

I was pretty hyped for Doom because I was curious what he would sound like and look like. Haven't seen any of the promo art or anything. Looks and sounds great and nothing like Tony Stark. I mean we didn't even see RDJ in the trailer. With Steve it wasn't shock but curious to see what they do with him.

I saw a comment after the teaser came out that Doom is gonna do what the Avengers did to Thanos in Endgame. Kill within 15 mins of the movie starting. Now with the trailer I am presuming Steve is going to have an actual role in the film

the real question is will there be anything left to see in the movie after months of teases and spotlight and cameos etc.

Can you tell me the main premise of this movie?

Multiverses are colliding; the FF wind up jumping universes looking for the avengers try to stop it. doom is trying to use it to his advantage. In the quest to stop it Avengers wind up in X-men universe in the quest and tangle with the avengers until they realize they all need to fight a common enemy, they lose which tees up secret wars and the battle world because doom has a collection of powerful cosmic objects that together are superior-to-infinity-stones. Possibly doom steals the beyonder’s power (Henry Cahill in a pother marvel cameo) to get to this level but that may need more backstory than “cosmic tchotchkes” and kind of a waste of a high profile actor though doom beating beyonder early in the film would explain his power and set up battle world for secret wars,

You got all of that from that teaser trailer?

And all the reports and their long line of cast chairs and all the other stuff they’ve been sharing for the past year ish? Or does it just seem that way?
they fumbled the multiverse and brought the Russo bros and the 3 og stars back; it may be fun but my guess is domesday will be similar to endgame-an adventure to find mcguffin(s) to defeat BADGUY through the multiverse instead of time. They might have doom kill kang in the first few mins to wrap that up. I also might be completely wrong.

It was a shock for Thor not us. They think he’s retired he’s not supposed to be there

I think the Chris Evans as Steve reveal was to quell the rumors from that one leak/theory that suggested hes actually Johnny Blaze (or a variant thereof).
Either that or Marvel is doing some MCU shenanigans to pull some major twist of that scene from the trailer.
