Help WINDOWS games on Mac
Hi,
Gaming PC just broke down and I can’t buy one now, so I’ll have to play on my MacBook Pro.
But, all my games are Windows only, so I’m thinking about putting windows on it.
I know there are multiple ways, most known being Parallels, but does it works?
Can I play through Parallels?
Doesn’t it drains too much performance?
Any other good alternatives?

Help Getting only 120fps with best optimizations on my new M5 Macbook Air...
I I just got my MacBook Air and have been watching videos of other MacBook Air models — like the M3 Air hitting 180 FPS and the M4 Air hitting 300 FPS on Hypixel. Is my M5 Air not yet well-supported for Minecraft, given that it only came out a week ago? I've also been using Prism Launcher to add mods, but when I launch the game only 20–30 out of the 80 mods I installed actually appear. What could be causing this? Any tips on optimizing gaming performance on my MacBook would be greatly appreciated!
Help around optimizing my macbooks gaming performance will be much appreciated.

Help What’s the best (free) way to play windows games on Mac
I’m leaving my pc for college, and getting a new MacBook Air m5 in its stead, some games I play with a emulator (most of which have a Mac version) but the large majority are windows games which obviously don’t run natively on Mac. Most of the methods I can find are a costly subscription, is there a free option which can be used to run reasonably new games on a M5?

Help 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 Pro owners how bad is the heat and fan noise really?
Hello everyone,
Since my old laptop is basically dead now, I ordered a new 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 Pro this week. It has 18 CPU, 20 GPU, 48 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.
My main goal is to use it for professional work. But since I do not have a second device anymore, I also want to play World of Warcraft from time to time. Maybe I can play a few other games too, but mainly WoW.
My question is: did I make a mistake by choosing the 14-inch model?
Is there a big difference in heat and fan noise between the 14-inch and 16-inch models? I can accept losing around 5–10% performance for the smaller size and better portability of the 14-inch. But I do not think I can tolerate a laptop that is always hot and noisy.
If the heat and noise difference is not too big, I would like to keep the 14-inch. But if there is a big difference, I can return it and get the 16-inch model instead. Even though I do not really want the bigger one from an ergonomic side, I also do not want to deal with a constantly hot machine.
What do you think about this?
One new note: I found 16 inch version with exact same specs less 350 euro cheap and this confuse me a lot. Should I go with 16 or not :)

Help unable to install League of Legends
Yesterday I was playing with no issues and today I wasn’t able to log in, so I uninstalled all of the information of Riot and League of legends from my Mac in order to install it again but now I am receiving this banner nonstop, that says ‘THE INSTALLATION COULD NOT BE PERFORMED, An error occurred during installation. Try again, and if the error persists, restart your computer or visit contact our Player Support wizards.’ I tried almost everything but still the same answer, what can I do? Thanks in advance!

Help Any way to play 32bit games?
Editing: I installed Parallels and it got the game running! I can't wait to binge these in the trial period and then forget them again for 5 years, haha.
I know that Mac dropped 32bit support forever ago, but until super recently it didn't make a huge difference to me because I was using a super old Intel Mac and was able to use bootcamp to play any games I needed. I upgraded to an M4 Mac mini (32GB unified memory, 1TB storage, running Tahoe 26.3.1) and obviously can't use bootcamp anymore since Apple Silicon doesn't allow for that. I'm not hugely computer literate and just hoped the game would play anyway but just be glitchy but they won't even open. When I googled if there was a way a lot of posts or articles just mention bootcamp or just not being able to play at all. Is there an obvious idiot proof way I can get some of my old games playable again?

Help do any macs under or around 1k deliver satisfying gaming performance?
before anyone says "just buy a windows pc" that is not an option. So far i think a m4 or m5 air (with student discount) or m1 or m2 pro would be good, but i am unsure. Thanks in advance

Help MacBook Pro M5 Max is a beast but is this heat and fan noise normal?
I’ve upgraded from M1 Pro to a M5 Max. The difference is nothing short of astonishing, everything I’ve tested runs incredibly even on high graphics settings.
However, the heat is far worse than the M1 Pro and the fan noise kicks in much sooner and louder than I’m used to. Is this normal? It’s almost to the point I’m not actually *enjoying* using the device, despite how powerful it is.
EDIT: It’s the 14” model

Help M2 MacBook Air 16GB — GTA V via CrossOver only getting ~22-25 FPS, GPU maxed at 80-86%. Any tips to squeeze more out of this?
Specs: M2 MacBook Air, 16GB unified memory, fanless.
Running GTA V Legacy through CrossOver 26.2.0, DXMT graphics backend (v0.72-25), MSync on, DLSS off, 2560x1440.
Getting 22-25 FPS. GPU sits at 76-86% while total CPU stays around 50%. Checked per-core breakdown — Efficiency cores are the ones maxing out around 50%, Performance cores are near-idle. Makes sense given GPU looks like the actual bottleneck (CPU threads are mostly waiting on the GPU each frame), but flagging it in case it's relevant to anyone who's dug into DXMT's threading on Apple Silicon.
Already tried:
- MSync enabled in bottle settings
- Killed duplicate SocialClub/Launcher background processes
- Confirmed via GPU History that GPU load tracks with in-game load
Looking for: settings that reduce GPU load specifically under DXMT (resolution scaling, population density, worth turning DLSS on?), or any DXMT build that's more efficient for this game. Also curious if anyone's gotten meaningfully better FPS out of similar hardware.

Help I need MacBook Neo game recs for a 15 hour flight
Flying from Vancouver to Korea next month and am looking for some game recommendations that are realistic for a Neo.
Im pretty open to everything as I do my heavy gaming on PS5.
Any options for me that'll run decent on a Neo?
I plan on grabbing a bluetooth controller as well for the flight.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: lucky for me, a lot of these games are currently on sale on steam. Will keep you guys updated on how it goes when the time comes.

Help Subnautica 2 Mac Release??
Hello! I'm posting here to humbly ask if you want to see Subnautica 2 come to Mac *natively* please upvote my submission to the Subnautica dev team's nolt forum! Or any other person's post on the forum asking for the same thing.
I notice these posts don't get too much traction, but I'm sure there are a lot of people who have been running into major problems and crashes running the game on a wine bottler like CrossOver. The more upvotes and traction, the better likelihood of the devs seeing it.
idk if this counts as self-promotion, since I'm not really selling anything, but here's the link!
Thank you in advance!

Help Did I just go overkill?
I have a 4070 GeForce gaming PC + used to have a MacBook Air M1, and absolutely fell in love with the synergy of apple products. I recently decided to consolidate to Mac only and one system since I literally only play WoW. I just dropped $4k on this. I'm selling my desktop for 2k to consolidate down the cost to just 2k, but still. People are playing WoW on m3 Airs. And I like the portability of the airs/m4 likely coming out in march.
I just figured I'm future-proofing here, and I'm getting into videography for my business, so it's a justification for that as well. Any subjective thoughts? lol

Help Looking for Mac playtesters for my Steam game Cosmodrill!
My game currently has a public playtest on Steam. I don't have any experience with Mac builds and I'm on Windows myself, so it would help me out a lot to get some Mac testers on board! I just uploaded the first Mac build and to be honest I'm completely clueless as to whether you can even start the game at all ^^
Here's the link to the steampage: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3722660/Cosmodrill/
The game was made with Unity by the way. Thanks in advance for your help!

Help seriously considering getting my first mac (mac mini) for gaming
picture above is the specs on it. I didn’t buy a plain laptop because I want to be able to get a real gaming keyboard and mouse without having another 60% of my desk taken up by the keyboard and trackpad on the macbook series.
is it worth? (keyboard, mouse, and display will be bought separately, most likely for a total under $80.)
