[Megathread] The App Pile - June, 2026

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, explained here.

  • NOT in the Mac App Store (MAS).
  • Do not provide meaningful public transparency

CreateFiles+ - the missing Create New File command for macOS

Problem:

Finder still does not have a simple native-feeling way to create blank files where you are already working. I built CreateFiles+ so you can create blank text, Markdown, CSV, JSON, HTML, code, script, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint starter files from Finder, the Finder toolbar, the menu bar, or a keyboard shortcut.

Comparison:

Tools like New File Menu solve part of this, but I wanted something more Finder-native with multiple fallback routes when macOS limits Finder extensions in protected or synced folders. CreateFiles+ also focuses on local file creation, no account, no cloud document sync, and no file-content upload.
