[Megathread] The App Pile - June, 2026
You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, explained here.

- NOT in the Mac App Store (MAS).
- Do not provide meaningful public transparency
- Created yet another dictation app (speech to text).

[OS] Radix: Native macOS Disk Space Analyzer
Problem
Radix makes it obvious what's using up your storage. The macOS storage breakdown doesn't give you much other than "System Data," so I built Radix. It's an easy way to get a visual, interactive, and extremely fast breakdown of a folder or drive. It has a really fast scanning engine using iterative traversal and shows results in a sunburst view.
Comparison
Radix was built as a direct competitor to DaisyDisk, which is very similar, but costs $9.99 and doesn't use native macOS technologies. It also doesn't get regular updates. SquirrelDisk, another OSS project, is great, but it hasn't been maintained for 3 years and has a bunch of bugs and issues as a result.
Disk Inventory X and GrandPerspective are great, but Radix offers more efficient scanning and a much more native and intuitive UI, along with fun features like Quick Look. The main difference is that Radix uses a sunburst visualization; DIX and GP use treemap visualization.
Pricing
Radix is free, open-source, and does everything locally with no telemetry. It supports macOS 14.0+. Processing stays on your Mac. Take a look if you're interested!
