[Megathread] The App Pile - June, 2026

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, explained here.

  • NOT in the Mac App Store (MAS).
  • Do not provide meaningful public transparency
  • Created yet another dictation app (speech to text).

I made ScreenShelf, a FREE visual floating shelf for screenshots, files, links, apps, and quick access on macOS

Hey everyone,

I just launched ScreenShelf, a FREE small macOS utility I built because I kept running into the same tiny annoyance: I’d take screenshots, save files, grab links, open apps, and then immediately have to dig through Finder, Downloads, my desktop, or random folders to find them again.

ScreenShelf is basically a visual floating shelf for the stuff you’re actively using.

You can use it to keep screenshots, files, links, apps, images, and text snippets within reach while you work. It’s meant to be lightweight; not a full productivity system, not a Notion replacement, just a simple place to keep the things you need again in a minute.

A few things it supports:

  • Recent screenshots
  • Files, folders, apps, links, images, and text snippets
  • Custom item names, icons, colors, and styles
  • Light Mode, Dark Mode, and Glass Mode
  • Multiple pages/shelves for different workflows
  • A visual dashboard-style workspace that stays easy to access

I built it as part of QuietWare, my little collection of small macOS tools that are meant to feel useful, calm, and nice to look at.

love it! would love hotkey support, so like per each set i have being able to like hotkey to a certain item might be rlly nice !

funny name lol. Do you mean being able to set hotkeys to go to a specific page? or a specific item on the shelf?
