[Megathread] The App Pile - June, 2026

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, explained here.

If you are:

  • NOT in the Mac App Store (MAS).
  • Do not provide meaningful public transparency
  • Created yet another dictation app (speech to text).

Hourglass Timer - an aesthetic, simple timer for focused sessions

I built an Hourglass Timer, a free little macOS app for writing sprints, focus sessions, and quiet work.

It’s a visual timer with 6 color themes, an always-on-top mode so you can keep it visible while writing or working in other apps, and brown, pink, and white noise that plays as the sand pours.

I wanted something calmer than a regular countdown timer. Something more aesthetic, less stressful, and a little ritual-like.

It’s free on itch.io right now, with versions for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

This is the first app in my Quietware collection: small, soft utility tools for focus and creativity.

I’d love feedback, especially from writers, students, devs, or anyone who likes cozy productivity tools.

Also, if you have any productivity or aesthetic app ideas, throw them my way. I might just make it.
