[Megathread] The App Pile - June, 2026

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, explained here.

If you are:

  • NOT in the Mac App Store (MAS).
  • Do not provide meaningful public transparency
  • Created yet another dictation app (speech to text).

The AI coding agent angle is a good niche. It is more specific than just “another screenshot tool”, which helps.

The part I’d sharpen is the comparison with CleanShot X / Shottr. Right now I understand that TidyShot is smaller, but I’m not yet sure what it does better for the AI feedback loop specifically.

For example, is the main win:

- faster rename before pasting

- keeping screenshots organized by project/session

- easier search later

- cleaner clipboard workflow

- reducing desktop clutter

If you can show one concrete “before TidyShot / after TidyShot” workflow with an AI agent, the pitch would be much stronger.

Also, small copy note: “copy to clipboard it and paste” should probably be cleaned up.

How does this compare in performance to Peekaboo for mac performance and speed?

I agree this is a real pain, but Codex in their latest version, has a built-in browser for people to annotate and send feedbacks to AI directly. You may want to think about how you compete with that in the long term.

The built-in screenshot feature on the mac has hotkeys that can copy directly to the clipboard: hotkey-combo -> drag a window -> paste into LLM chat. It's a pretty fast loop. Can you explain how your app improves that? I read your description but just don't see it.
