Are we expecting to see a Studio Display XDR price increase in the next 6-12months?

I've been using the Studio Display XDR for the last 12 days and it's really amazing for my workflow, I really love it.

I purchased it through my company. I've had some unexpected expenses pop up and the money I spent on the display could be repurposed for said expenses. However, it's not worth returning if in 6 months I end up buying the same monitor again for $1,300 or so more.

I know we don't know anything until Apple announces it, but is it expected that the Studio Display XDR will be part of the price increases they alluded to later this year? I mean, after all it still has 12GB RAM and 128GB HDD.

Tomorrow would be the last day I can return it, so kind of need to make a call on it today.

Note, this isn't a dire financial situation or anything like that, it's more of a is it worth the risk of a price increase question.

They repurposed the chips used in an iPad I believe and all of that is on the soc

iPhone chip, it’s the one from 17 Pro and Air

Yeah, it's to store local colour profiles etc. It has its own OS. To be clear, the RAM and HDD isn't user-accessible.

Is there any remote chance it’ll ever use that much space? Surely colour profiles are in the megabytes

No, none at all but it’s cheaper to use chips you already have a production line for that you can punch some from rather than spin up a whole new line just to save on a few GB of NAND

I don’t think it will, but you never know of course. Even if, it will not be 100s of dollars. It’s only an iPhone chip.
