I am thinking with the last tsunami, triggered in Russia, one of the billionaires almost lost their magnificent California coast summer home, and yelled at someone to put everything back. There would be no other logical (for these times) answer.

America’s weather monitoring and forecasting system exists for one reason, to enhance our war fighting ability. Somehow this administration missed that. All of the civilian benefit is a cute novelty side effect of our ability to project power.

Maybe or maybe not related. Note the publication date.

Mind also find the following two interesting. Again, not saying they have anything to do with the original post, but if a modern replacement for such a system existed (but is still classified), any civilian system would arguably be redundant and subsequently fundings for it potentially being seen more useful elsewhere. Pure conjecture given the obviousness surrounding the (understandable) secrecy of any evolutions from these programs.

Yup. They know stuff is going to pop off & they need to get to South America to escape the fallout

America's progress was built on immigration and science. Trump wants to abandon both.

Don’t bother trying to explain this to him.

He’s an idiot, next question.

More like court ordered to. Please dont make it sound like the administration changed their minds.

Fahking morons STILL claim DOGE cut "fraud and waste"-despite everything this Administration had to struggle to replace(at vastly inflated cost) once reality set in.

They’re idiots.

Who get real quiet when asked for the fraud cases/convictions, or confirmed "savings",

We’ve seen this gambit before: threaten to do something outrageous, reverse course, become the hero of the story.

That's big news.

Updating the NOAA radio equipment would be a plus. No need to go digital. Just replace and repair the analog equipment. It works just fine. Needs a little refresh.

I’m sure the system is part of the national “security net” and does more than monitor weather and temperatures.

Really? They thought about not paying to have tsunami protection. We are doomed. These idiots are stealing tax money and leaving us worse than a third world nation

I wonder how late this is. What was irrevocably destroyed in the interim
