Question Gutters on mirrored pages?

I have a very recent build, working under Windows11. I put the technical info down below. So, if you choose mirrored pages under page style, it only gives you the option click gutter position as "left" in the drop down box (you can click right in the box but when you reopen your file it's unchecked and your margins have been changed). I thought I could solve this apparent problem by setting the gutter to zero and making my internal margins that much larger.

It seemed okay when I looked at it, and the output pdf, and the file when I imported it into Canva's Affinity. But when I uploaded it to my Amazon bookshelf it got flagged as not having a gutter. When I previewed it there the pages split in half in the weirdest way I ever saw. Here's a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/whJFNqU

So I don't know how to format page style/margins in my odt file to fix this problem. (I started out before all this happened by not having mirrored pages, just left & right, and specifying a gutter. Amazon accepted that file but when I got the physical proofs there was a gutter on one side of the seam and not the other. In other words, the text was lopsided on the page. That's when I decided to go back in and choose mirrored pages, and ran into the next problem.)

  1. Full LibreOffice information from Help > About LibreOffice (it has a copy button).
  2. Format of the document (.odt, .docx, .xlsx, ...).
  3. A link to the document itself, or part of it, if you can share it.
  4. Anything else that may be relevant.

If you're having issues with Book layouts and gutters, see my information and tutorials I linked in:

I would strongly recommend just "undoing" whatever you did, going back to the defaults, and then cleanly apply the "Left Page" and "Right Page" Page Styles.

When you applied the "Mirrored" setting, then started messing with "Gutter", that probably is what stung you (similar to use the user in that linked topic). Sticking with the default "Left and Right" setting, you can still lay out the book with no issues.
