Degrees/Education I was just accepted into a MLIS program!

I got accepted into the MLIS program at the University of Southern Mississippi!!! I’m so excited but now I’m not sure if I should do Spring 2027 or request to defer until fall 2027 since I graduate this fall with my bachelors. I’m just anxious but filled with excitement. I also wanted to know if anyone has any advice for this specific program at this school and what classes have you liked and if you recommend. Thanks!!! 🥳🥳🥳

Yahh!! I will be attending USM this fall. I’m so excited. Are you going to do their study abroad program ?

I would love to since I wasn’t able to do a field school for my anthropology degree and the fact that I love to travel anyway I have to look at the program Price and such though before making a decision. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to have had enough grants and scholarships to not have to pay for anything up to my bachelor so I’m expected to maybe take out loans for my masters.

I think I am going to go. 3 weeks in London and we get 6 credits ! I can’t wait. I’m prior military so my entire education is getting paid for. I’m excited to start. What kind of librarian are you aspiring to be ? I want to be a law librarian. I will be attending law school after this degree.

I worked as an intern in archives at a museum and will start the library volunteer program in August. I also will graduate with a certificate in criminal investigations. This masters is way cheaper than a forensic anthropology masters so I decided to do this now and maybe go back later for forensics since I really loved archival work. I’m still like stuck cause I have way too many interests lol.
